I am wondering how much these go for used, I found a clip and really like how it sounds. There is one on fleabay for $45 at the moment.

What is the difference between the Rg classis, and the Es?

How are these mainly voiced? Modded Marshall?

Here's the clip I really like of it.

I had one of the RG100ES amps....
it sounded decent. Not great....but not too bad.
I know this dont say much.....but I dont think it was modded Marshall tone at all.

hmmm...
I still might want to try one. If I don't like it, I'll flip it :)

Also, let me know when the picks arrive

I got mine on Ebay for $140 shipped a couple years back.
Not worth it in my opinion.
For a Dean Dime amp at $199??.....snag it! ;)

For a cheap beater back up.....that Dime amp kills.....
Had mine for a few months between tube amps and it was a BLAST to play!
If you can get one cheap....grab one! ;)

I think this demo sounds pretty good. I will have to drive downtown this week and try it out...

Funny thing? When I had the Dime amp....it was just damn KILLER at old ROCK TONES!
Etc...Kiss....AC/DC....Foghat...Zepplin....
but the metal sounded pretty damn good as well. ;)

I read a story online on how the dime amp came about.

When Dime died, dean got all his gear, and one piece was a RG 100 ES head. They had the RG and shipped it off to Germany to be fixed up, and because dean was producing a new amp that was a dime sig amp. I think the dime amp, Is most likely a direct copy of the RG 100 ES, but with a few minor tweaks.

Yeah.....that Dime amp is bad ass for the price!
I got one from Musicians Friend for under $200 used!!
Was the best bang for the buck I have come across yet! ;)

The RG100es is probably worth in the $200-300 range depending on the condition. They do the 80s metal thing great stock. You'll need a boost for modern metal but it can be done  being solid state they sound good at low volumes but since it's only 100 watts or so it's not nearly as loud as a tube amp.

Yeah, they used to go for around $250, but they seem to be going up. There are certain versions that are better than others, and some of them have been closer to $400 lately. They are kind of all over the place depending on the week.

I would say they are kind of JCM800 like, but more modern sounding. I have a Century 200II, which was kind of like the update to the RG100ES. It is a cool amp, but I will probably sell it one day...
