Hi
A friend of mine has built a new website
Reamp.io
where you can reamp online with real amps.
The site is under developing and there are now 2 amps in the amp farm available.
2 more amps will be added this year.

Do you think there is a market for this or is it just an crazy idea 🙂

Regards
Hasse

This is actually quite cool! I donmt think it can be profitable though.
Do you think plugins are the biggest competitor or what makes you think it’s not profitable? (I’m the one who made it). The don’t know myself, so I’m genuinely curious.

First I think the whole infastructure won’t be cheap, but you can’t jack up prices too high. Second is there are a lot of people offering reamping services which drives the price down. And third is the ease of reamping with modellers/plugins.

But I myself love the idea of being able to run through real amps online.

That’s what I meant by infastructure. But you can wire it with a smart switch activated by server command to turn on/off
The amps are automatically turned on when a user selects the amp so electricity is not a huge cost. And the tube wear is no difference than running the amps in the studio. So that is already taken care of.

The extra machinery for each amp is around 1000eur or usd so that is a big investment. And then add the cost for each amp of course.

I think this service is cheaper than other reamping services where there is a technician operating the amp. In this system you don’t have to interact with another person and you can reamp at any time you want. Also the turnaround time is much shorter now when you batch job all tracks in one run if you want the same sounds on many tracks. You can also start to dial in another amp while the first amp is running the batch jobs.

It’s pretty cool actually.

The price I have chosen is 1€ per minute. And that is calculated very precisely.

I wish you all the success man! That is a cool idea indeed 👍🏻
