Recommend me a Lunch Box amp

If I could get psychodave to work on a Jet City 20 like his clips on here somewhere I’d recommend that.

950 for that Kruse modded Evh 50 watter.
That’s what I would snag in that budget. :D

Why not just get a jcm800 or the big amp of your choice that you like ($900-1200) and a used Fryette PS2 that should equal out to around the budget or less. That’d work with the speaker cab.

Somewhere between laziness and obsession I'll start to either not use it, or spend all my time tweaking it.

Had a DSL100 and a power brake for years. THe power brake was a massive tone suck, which im told the PS2 is not, but just not exactly what I'm wanting...

It's very tempting. Have you played a 5153 50W? I had a 100watt and it surely wasn't a bedroom amp...

For a 20 watt I’d go with a Son of Yeti or a MT-15. As previously said the MT-15 is more Boogie like than Marshall, but it kills regardless. For the cash, you can’t beat a 5150 III 50 watt. Awesome master volume that excels at bedroom volumes with plenty of power to spare if you ever need it.

Orange Dark Terror
Laney Ironheart
Krank Revolution
Synergy/ MTS system
Ceriatone Son of Yeti
Kemper Toaster

I use my 5153 50 wattb at home and its been fine. great at low volumes.

Never had a 50. Had the 100!watt 6L6 Stealth and currently have the Evh EL34 100 watt stealth and it kills. I guess the 50 watter is voiced the same.
Plus those mods aren’t too cheap.

I'd go with Ceriatone Son of Yeti or Splawn supersport as well. If i didn't have an amp from a local builder, i'd go with one of those.

Hell, for the money, a Peavey VTM 60 is a pretty cool Jose flavored amp, and if you swap it into a 5150 headshell it weighs a shitload less.

Thanks for thee comment. :)

No chance I’d ever start modding. I want to do another for myself and I’m too lazy.

That said, the JCA20 is an amazing platform to use for modding.

I have a JCA50H collecting dust in my living room, are those as easy to mod as well?

With the genres you listed I would go Splawn or Ceriatone. I just got a JJ jr. and Im on the fence about keeping it. It sounds good but I was expecting an amp that wouldnt need a boost.

I still say the 50 watt EVH outshines the LBX versions. Much better master volume, and better tones at low volumes.

I wouldn't discount the Mini Jubilee. Yeah it needs a boost, but it sounds more raw than using the rhythm clip. That feature makes it sound like shit, IMO. But, leaving it off and boosting it sounds absolutely fantastic!

I have a very hard time thinking that the Splawn would let you down. No boosts, footswitcable gain levels, good loop, had a loop master. Definitely doesn't need a boost. Light and small and has no problem filling up a room.
