Recreating the Mick Mars/Mötley Crüe guitar tone with the Friedman JOSE

I bought my BE50 maybe 4 months before the Jose was announced. I wish I had waited because I mainly live on the BE and HBE channels. This Friedman seems to have the most interesting options to shape your high gain tones.

Pretty cool but I’d do what he did and blend another amp for the lows. Sounds awesome .

When I heard your 'dive ups' at the beginning of "Kickstart" I already knew...

Yes that would work too, I believe that's what Bob Rock did on the black album. Mesa for the bulk of the sound and the Jose for the high mid punch. The great thing about this amp being tight in the lows is that once you add the bass and drums it pratically mixes itself in without even having to apply an high pass eq on it.

The BE50 is still a keeper man, what a great amp. The Jose is just wilder sounding to my ears, maybe even brash sometimes but it works great in a mix.

Thank you for this! That nailed it! Friedman should be paying you royalties... I'm sure you've sold a few Joses. I know I thought I was pretty much set until I heard your last Jose video. Damn... just damn....

And yeah, those old Japanese Charvels really have it.

Thanks man. Yeah, when I turn the gain way up on my BE, it does sound fairly close to what I hear in the Jose. Obviously, missing some of the highs and the bite, but I get the impression they both have the Friedman thing.
