Hypothetical, since it's the busiest shipping time of the year. Due to no fault of either the seller or buyer, the package is damaged during shipping. Is it reasonable for the seller to only be reimbursed from the shipper, only the sale price, which is disproportionately low, while the seller is getting $220 over what the rest of sane sellers are charging doe shipping?

Except you forget that he accepted the offer taking a hit of $500 off his original price. I fail to see how this guy is scamming.

$300 for shipping is a scam

“The maximum reimbursement will not exceed the value of the item's sale price on Reverb.”

So the OP offers 2500 + 300. Seller counters with 2600 + 200.

Didn’t the seller just do the OP a favor according this rule?
No. Overcharging the buyer for shipping and circumventing Reverbs fee structure is enethical whether it double or triple the cost.

LMAO. So now we need to police the exact cost of shipping. Give me a break....Ever heard the term shipping and handling. It takes time and cost of material to pack an amp not just the cost of what the shipping company charges. If you don’t like it, move on.

This is beyond hilarious now.
You are acting like $300 shipping for an amp is normal, common. The reality is that you'd be hard pressed to find even a handful of people doing that for CONUS shipping on any forum or auction site. Go look at 20 random listings and report back how many are even close to $300 for shipping an amp.

It’s a Fortin amp. Maybe he feels it warrants better shipping material. Maybe he double boxes the amp so it’s bigger. Maybe he only ships with UPS. Someone else posted UPS was charging him $354 to ship. Maybe cost varies based on location. Not all amps cost $86 to ship for fuck sake.

No it’s not. Why am I arguing with a guy who just builds copies of amps?

like Mike Fortin who also builds copies of amps and pedals. I guess I'm in good company

Only difference is he is successful at it I guess.

I’m looking on Reverb and seeing lots of amps with shipping of $150. By your logic they are scammers. Hang them all! Welcome to gear communism.

I am successful at my day job and couldn't make the same amount building amps. It's that simple. So you just confirmed the shipping price is higher that normal. Thanks for the confirmation

Thanks poindexter. You win. Enjoy.

Next we will be arguing on what the cost of an amp has to be. Gear communism. Our lead scottosan will guide the rules for us all.

Oh so you deleted your post on how gear is market driven and shipping cost are not. LOL.

So, Expectation of a basic understanding of both logic and reason = communism. I'll makes sure to ask Webster to update their definition.

Yes, because I should not have to state the obvious. Shipping an item that is dimension x and weighs y and going a set amount of miles will be the same for any 2 random people that walk you to the counter and no negotiation is going to change that. They don't charge d-bags double.... Or maybe they do?

Hahahaha. So you’re telling me shipping rates are not dictated by the market? Ever hear of rising or dropping fuel cost?

Dude just give it up already.

yes but not $220 more for a single jackwagon in Florida. Shipping costs are only partially affected by gas prices in the form of surcharges on your overall shipping fee. Gear prices are considerably more volatile than shipping charges. And someone selling gear for triple what other people are selling for again is not reasonable or sustainable in any market

Preach it commie.

Listen buddy you have the freedom of choice to buy it or not. He gave the option of making an offer and it was accepted and even better than what the OP asked for. Shipping went down and he saved $500.

Good night mr know it all.

commie, really dude? Name calling is always a great substitute for debate. By the way, I take exception to the commie statement. I've served this country, I'm disabled because of it, yet use no government resources as a result of it. I believe in the Constitution and honest hard work for honest good pay and take exception to people try to work an angle with every aspect of their existence. So if you are going to call me a commie for calling out dishonest BS, then at least find a valid reason to call me a commie.

My apologies good sir.

At any rate you think it’s a scam. I don’t.

The end.

Isn’t this interesting.

The same guy complaining about high shipping costs on Reverb and it being a “scam” is trying to sell an amp and is charging...$200 for shipping.

Oh the irony...I thought it only costs $98 to ship an amp?

https://reverb.com/item/18049229-ksr-rh ... licies-tab

  Hey, I learn from the best.

The scam wasn't the shipping fee. It was raising one and lowering the other in response to an offer to keep the total price the same. But good to know you're still hung up on it and letting it get to you. If I wanted to scam people, I'd list it for $1 + $2,699 shipping.
