Rhodes amplification is now KSR amplification

Why KSR Amplification? To begin with, I assure you we are the same folks who have been delivering your high quality gear since 2009 as Rhodes Amplification, LLC. However, through a series of events, some within our control, and some not, we have decided to adorn our line of guitar products with the KSR Amplification name. This is what you'll see on the front of all our physical shipments soon. On the back we will still proudly display our official business name: Rhodes Amplification, LLC.

Why change? Frankly, we feel it is much more beneficial to our customers if we continue designing and building cutting-edge products rather than pouring our resources into legal battles.

We hope you like the new name and new look. We welcome your feedback. Please feel free to contact us with any questions and/or comments.

A note for current customers -- your already ordered amps will all bear the Rhodes Amplification brand as you originally expected when placing your order.
 
Yeah i got that via email yesterday. Pending orders have the choice of either name plate.

I'll wait to see pics of the new one to decide witch I like better
 
Tell them they can have your name when they start building amps with some semblance of quality again!
 
This is pure corporate douchebaggery on Fender's part. Like anyone with 1/2 a brain would confuse a Rhodes Artemis, Colossus or Gemini with Fender's mass produced tripe. I'd rather take a knife in the eye than support Fender. Since they're clearly in financial trouble with GC et al., let's go pick on the little guys & try to impede their business. Dicks.
 
Weak. Love my Fenders but they can suck it. Reminds me of Marshall going after Friedman for the Marsha, but this is even dumberer.
 
Real lame of Fender, Rhodes made a name for themselves delivering their own designs and solid products, not by piggybacking on some name Fender might have bought but didn't come up with themselves.

Thanks for the warning, I'll make a note to steer clear of any Fender products from now on. :thumbsdown:

Just to clarify, it's not Fender. It's actually a company who reacquired the TMs from Harold Rhodes' estate after he passed, after he reacquired the TMs from Fender.

Said company doesn't build anything these days, all they seem to do is license the TM to other companies. It was even offered to me to license my own name back to me. How nice of them!

It's all very complicated and confusing, and I now know more about TM law than I ever cared to...but it's a necessary evil.

In that case I take back what I said about Fender, they're off my blacklist now.

These stories about legal companies whose speciality is trying to profit off the hard work and success of others through tying them up in court hoping to win the case or drag it out for some sort of settlement just sickens me. It's also sad that this is the reality of actually making real and cool products these days. :no: They all go under "Damage, Inc." in my books.

Kyle, it looks like you are becoming too successful for your own good. :lol: :LOL: Seriously, I hope everything works out with the KSR branding.

What about how Taco Bell ran those commercials with all those real people named Ronald McDonald. Surely McDonalds has that trademarked....
