This is how it's been going here....
Other Guy: Yeah, I have a Used, like New
Condition Amp, that I want TOP DOLLAR Value for.
But I want to give you BOTTOM DOLLAR Value
for your Used Like New Condition Amp.

Me: GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!
Doesn't anyone want to cut a FAIR DEAL
for their Gear anymore? These Cheap Pricks
are not Satisfied, Uneless they're Dragging
someone over the coal's!!
I'm FINISHED Dealing with these Tire Kicking
Cheap Wad's...I'm keeping what I got for the
time being, until we can Weed out these POS'
that are treating this place like EBAY.
End/Rant but Not Really.

What do you Guy's think?
Am I Crazy??

So someone on here has a used amp, priced as if it was new, trying to trade you for your used amp and insisting on pricing it as if it were broken?

The good thing about forums is they are a community of people who, while having different opinions; still have the same overall interest as you do in your hobby of choice. The problem with them is that you can't low-ball anyone because you are too good of friends to do that to them   I have forums that I am more active on and forums I maintain more of a buyer/seller presence on. Just works better for me. Good luck with your sale and hold out until you get what you want out of your gear sale.

Things do seem to be slow for selling gear but I've had some success trading..it sucks if you are COUNTING on getting a certain amount for your gear. Just don't give in to the lowballers but someone out there eventually will come through for ya..

I will gladly pay you on Tuesday for a hamburger today.

The used market for seller's has never fully recovered after 2008 imo, and has just gotten steadily worse to the point where it is now. A glut of used gear in a sea of lowballers and those trying to trade up at your expense.

I'm trying to avoid selling now because of it...no more "buy to try" for me until it get's better.

In addition to low ballers I'm also seeing (not the OP) some seller's with eyebrow-raising prices where I would just buy new.

I wouldn't let it get to you, not worth it...but I do miss how the classifieds used to be.

so tired of trying to sell stuff these days. i listed my relic strat for a fair price on RT and nobody seemed to want it.
i ended up listing it on ebay and sold it within 2 weeks. i got the price i wanted and we did the deal outside of ebay and the customer saved the ebays fees. so everybody is happy, i hate ebay but i always had a better chance selling stuff that way.

i guess i will have to keep my 2013 vh4, i listed it on RT but theres like 3 others for sale and its too hard to compete with everybody. its a cool amp and its not a big deal if i keep it now that the strat is sold. i thought i would have got some decent trade offers but the few offers i got was for amps i didnt want.
i would say that ive listed about 20 items the last 2 years on this forum and maybe only sold 3 things to forum members. i have gotten plenty of shitty offers too, i dont mind listening to a fair deal. i will always try and work with people. but im not gonna get screwed!!

^^this^^ is dead nuts on! Not only for gear but everything. The economy sucks. Unless
You work for the :jerkit: government!

Yeah selling has been rough. Trades are going pretty well though.
But I do see the philosophy your talking about.."If its mine...its worth more....if its yours its worth less"
Most people have been on the forum or around music gear to know the decent value. Lowballers just suck.

Im done with Ebay for sure and the forums are full of pushy douche bags with no money. I love getting PMs basically telling me how it's going to be with my item and the time frame in which I will comply with Sir LowBall DoucheBag. I got news for you Mr. Pushy Lowballer : go feck yerself.

I actually had someone annoy me so bad that I just kept the item in the end. Its collecting dust being unused but Lord DoucheBag and his band of Merry Lowballers will have to go elsewhere.

I offered a trade with a guy who still had his amp for sale. He wanted more money and wouldn't trade straight up. Several weeks later he lowered his price down to my trade value. I don't think he had sold it yet.

Had a guy contact me a while back interested in trading for a Splawn I had. He wanted to make an even amp trade but wanted me to pay shipping on both amps... claimed to be broke.

Things sell for a price that other people are willing to pay for it. That's exactly how much something is worth. If you're not happy with the offers you are getting, maybe you paid too much for it and should just keep it. If you want to reach largest number of perspective buyers put your stuff on eBay. As much as I hate it, it's still the best way to get something sold whether you do it though them or not.

I don't see what the big deal is to say no to some one, it's just buisiness.

I don't understand saying like $1500 sale price and $1800 trade value. If you're selling for $1500 then it is obviously what you value it at.

I've owned every High Gain Channel Switcher on
the Market, I own several Big Dollar Amps right now..
I could care less if I ever sold them. Point being, these
cheap Pricks act like they're doing me a favor by Low
Balling Me, telling me how much my Amp has Decreased
in Value, while they tell me in the same breath, how
much their amp has appreciated in value.
GO BACK TO EBAY, MUTHAFUCKA!!!

It's NOT business...if you want business, go
to Guitar Center. It's that Fuckin' Attitude that
is Ruining a Cool Forum to Buy/Trade/Sell Gear.
OH, I say NO plenty...I'm not shy!!
I look at it like this, Many of us participate in discussions
on the Forum..We know one another..Some of us are Friends..
We give Fair and sometimes Killer Deals on Gear to each other
where a place like Guitar Center will charge the Full Boat.
Now, this place is inundated with Ebay Cheap Fucks &
Tire Kickers!! This Influx of Douchebags has only come
around in the past couple of years....with Low post counts
only looking to Dump their Shit and Steal yours at an Insult
Price.

Eh, can't let it get to you Rick, it's only going to serve to piss you off. Like Tom said, the climate has changed, and it's not going back. Old timers like us are just going to have to adapt, and deal with it. If you want to sell something, either deal with the fact that it might take months to sell something near your price, with a ton of window shoppers, or use eBay and eat the fees. I can still sell stuff on eBay in one night, whereas it could sit here for weeks here at the same price. You have to price stuff far more aggressively if you want it sold here. This place is still good for trading though, at least you know it's a community of musicians. You can deal with it, or start yelling at the clouds, lol.
