Eh, can't let it get to you Rick, it's only going to serve to piss you off. Like Tom said, the climate has changed, and it's not going back. Old timers like us are just going to have to adapt, and deal with it. If you want to sell something, either deal with the fact that it might take months to sell something near your price, with a ton of window shoppers, or use eBay and eat the fees. I can still sell stuff on eBay in one night, whereas it could sit here for weeks here at the same price. You have to price stuff far more aggressively if you want it sold here. This place is still good for trading though, at least you know it's a community of musicians. You can deal with it, or start yelling at the clouds, lol.

Yup, Sad but you're right E,
Let's welcome in a New Age.

Things sell for a price that other people are willing to pay for it. That's exactly how much something is worth. If you're not happy with the offers you are getting, maybe you paid too much for it and should just keep it. If you want to reach largest number of perspective buyers put your stuff on eBay. As much as I hate it, it's still the best way to get something sold whether you do it though them or not.

I've owned every High Gain Channel Switcher on
the Market, I own several Big Dollar Amps right now..
I could care less if I ever sold them. Point being, these
cheap Pricks act like they're doing me a favor by Low
Balling Me, telling me how much my Amp has Decreased
in Value, while they tell me in the same breath, how
much their amp has appreciated in value.
GO BACK TO EBAY, MUTHAFUCKA!!!

I don't see what the big deal is to say no to some one, it's just buisiness.

It's NOT business...if you want business, go
to Guitar Center. It's that Fuckin' Attitude that
is Ruining a Cool Forum to Buy/Trade/Sell Gear.
OH, I say NO plenty...I'm not shy!!
I look at it like this, Many of us participate in discussions
on the Forum..We know one another..Some of us are Friends..
We give Fair and sometimes Killer Deals on Gear to each other
where a place like Guitar Center will charge the Full Boat.
Now, this place is inundated with Ebay Cheap Fucks &
Tire Kickers!! This Influx of Douchebags has only come
around in the past couple of years....with Low post counts
only looking to Dump their Shit and Steal yours at an Insult
Price.

Technically it is a business transaction. Your selling something and someone is buying something. If you take your emotions out of the equation, you'll be a whole lot happier, friend. All I'm saying is if you are tired of low-ballers, put your stuff up on eBay. If you're smart, you can work out a deal with a serious buyer outside of eBay and you will get a fair price and avoid the bullshit fees MUTHAFUCKA!! Or you can cry about the loss of "brotherhood" around here...

I don't understand saying like $1500 sale price and $1800 trade value. If you're selling for $1500 then it is obviously what you value it at.

That always makes me laugh. It's worth what it's worth. So How the fuck am I mean to value what I'm trading to match the others "adjusted for trade value" figure. Wow, you increase your value for a trade by $300 but I guess I'm supposed to keep my item's value the same as a cash deal for this trade?

I have a better chance with 2 chicks at the same time then trying to sell stuff here. :D

Thats why Ebay loves gear hounds. They always want it gone fast.

the gear page is great because many of those guys are older, and actually have some money to spend.
I've sold a bunch of stuff there recently.

Here has been 50/50. just sold an unloaded cab in a matter of days here, but apart from that, there have been a few clunkers i've dealt with as far as "oh i'm super interested", and then as soon as it comes to being payment time, they bail.

The boogie board used to be the worst for tire kickers, but its such a low traffic board now i usually get no replies to anything.

Simple economics. The economy has been a mess for 5-6 years and still, people bought gear. So there's a ton of gear out there that people are tired of. Maybe it's time to re-think gear purchases and what re-sale value really is these days.

I think a lot of sellers are deluded as to the current value of their stuff. If you don't want to take a hit on your gear, sit on it till things improve. Now is a good time to be a buyer. Notice that stuff that's priced in accordance with current market conditions actually sells. Other stuff just continues to rot in the classifieds.

Its the whole " Im broke so therefore your gear is worth less" philosophy. Lets face it.....guitar gear is discretionary income. If you dont have money then you should not be offering $700 for a $1200 amp because you should be saving your money for nondiscretionary purposes.

Getting mad or bitter does not do any good. I refuse to be raped by ebay or lowballers bc I dont need the money ( ill just blow it on more gear anyway !). I still buy gear but I buy what I know I want or need and dont try things out like I used too. Gear flipping is a losing venture at the moment.

This is the right answer in this thread. Nothing else much to say. If you dont want to take a hit keep it. If you want to move it price it to sell.

You can also NR it on ebay.
