Sheratons are sweet axes. I had a Sheraton II but the neck dive was outta hand. The stock probuckers were absolutely killer neo soul pickups with a great coil split sound too btw. I don't consider a Seth Lover set as an upgrade over them and I have used Seths in a couple different soul machines.
I have never had a hollow body, let alone a Gibson, but I buddy of mine picked up a Natural finish Epiphone ES-339 at a pawn shop that I did a lot of work on to get it right.

That thing was killer when I got done with it, pissed me off I didn't buy it out from under him...

I have a D'Angelico DC Mini, but the neck dive is killing it for me. Otherwise, it's a great guitar.

I almost bought a bigsby to put on there as a fix but that was over half the price of the guitar so I let it go instead. I regret not just doing it, cause it was wine red, beautiful, and had a shredder level buzz free action. I actually had to raise it a little. If you really love it it might be a worthwhile option.

A close friend of mine, may he rest in peace, died on the same day that one of our grandkids was born. His widow gave me all his guitars and studio gear, including an Ibanez AS73. His passing really hurt, and I stored it in a closet. I finally took the old strings off that were on the guitar when I got it, coiled 'em up and put them in a safe place as a memento to my friend...his DNA is on those strings. Steel wooled the frets, oiled up the fretboard and put new strings on it. That guitar rings like a dang church bell.
