These seem pretty nice for the shreds.

Time to meet your maker...
So you’ve come to the “About” page huh? Want to know more? Well sit back and relax because it’s story time.

My journey as a guitarist began at the fragile age of twelve. After much rummaging about in the basement I discovered a pile of records. Among the pile was a album, not just any album, Van Halen I. Side A, Track 2: Eruption. Loud, face melting, life changing. After much pestering and persistence I received and electric guitar and a Van Halen Anthology book. I fell off the face of the earth in an attempt to conquer the world with my guitar.

After finding that many of the guitarists I idolized modified or built their own guitars, I figured “Hey, Why not?” and gave it a go. After finishing my first build I decided that this is it. I enrolled in the guitar construction and repair course at Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery. If you have no idea who/what that is that’s okay. The important parts are that this place is the real deal. No cookie cutter “insert tab A into slot B” garbage. You learn to build a guitar from the ground up, inside and out. The school is also fully accredited member of the ACCSCT (Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology). They have a website with the deets. You can find it with the search engine of your choice, I graduated in ’09.

You don’t buy something because it’s “all right”. You don’t run out and buy a new car or stereo because your friend said “Meh, It’s okay, I guess?” You want a something that’s built with passion, skill, and good old fashion handcrafted attention to detail.

I love guitar and that’s who I build for: people who love it too. Players. The people that the “why” of their investment matters just as much as the investment. The instruments I make are for playing; not to be hung on a mantle someplace. I build because I enjoy it. I want to pass along quality craftsmanship at a great value that also looks as radical as possible.

Even after I decide to pack it in (yeah right) with the building business, you’ll still find me out in the shop making dust and shavings. My craft is my life and I couldn’t be happier.

Isn't the builder the guy from that Western documentary that was on TV a few years ago?

Saw them at NAMM. Very nice guitars. Killer finish and well built. They were with amp and pedal maker: https://www.thisheavyearth.com/

I wanted to go back on Saturday morning to do a demo of the amp using one of the RIP guitars but the sudden crazy weather on the East Coast canceled my return flights and had to leave a day earlier to be able to get home.

How do you feel these held up to other custom shop builds? Definitely been eyeing them for a while

My plan was to meet back with the guy on Saturday morning and do a video demo and use some of those beautiful RIP guitars but my trip was shortened due to the bad weather forecast on the East coast. My returning trips were canceled and my only way back home was to fly a day earlier.

There are worst places than Anaheim to be stuck and it was like 20C (68 F) and at the same time in was -20C (-4F) where I lived, so I really enjoyed that weather... But had to go back to work and as the Canadian pesos is worth nothing compared to the US dollar, it was already an expensive trip and add to this that I had to buy last minute return flight as I was let down by United Airlines... I could have bought a nice guitar for the price of those 2 days there but I had fun and was nice to see my son in action (he was working at a booth).
