This is just so sad and horrible. My band opened for Heaven & Hell last year and Mr. Dio was such a nice and genuine person. I certainly hope this is just speculation.

That metalunderground link states that this is all a hoax, that he is NOT DEAD... I did some searching around and albeit he's apparently not well and/or hospitalized, he hasn't bit the bullet thus far, and hopefully won't anytime soon.

It's the price we pay in regards to journalism on the internet and the death of news print. Anyone can start a site of any kind and report what ever they want. There's no schooling, no true knowledge on what it takes to accurately report facts. When our news was in print if you got your facts wrong you were DOA by competition or possibly sued. There was a lot more at stake for the publication. Now with 1000's of sites playing at some form of reporting or another there are no stakes when it comes to real journalistic ethics. Just sell those banner ads.
