 Dio was/is Metal. Man, I though for sure Ozzy would have gone before Ronnie. Seems as though Dio always lived a clean life in comparison. Was lucky enough to have a front row experience, That I will cherish forever.

RIP

what a huge contribution to rock history. he punched face until the end.

God bless you Ronnie James Dio.

I am shocked. I have been a fan for over 30 years. R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio. :(

I am truly very sad and depressed to hear this .

I have been a fan or Ronnie's music since the late 80's as a teen and I must have listened to Holy Diver countless times over the years . I have always loved his style of singing and he won't be forgotten !

A true metal legend is gone and will be missed !!

I think out of tribute I will listen to Heaven and Hell and Dio today .

Everyone said it already...really sucks. I always found Dio's part in this funny. Classy dude.

Dio is a legend, my favorate singer.

He will be greatly missed! RIP Ronnie

Your music will live on forever.

RIP Dio. I was hoping and praying he would kick the crap out of cancer. Damn :gethim:

Cancer sucks :gethim:

RIP Dio. I never met him but my brother said he was the nicest rock star he ever met.

I hadnt been listening to metal seriously in years when my brother reluctantly convinced me to go see Heaven and Hell at Madison Square Garden last year. I was so glad I went (and even more so now obviously) because I was in sheer amazement at the power of his voice. His vocals were incredible for someone at any age and far superior to most singers 40 years his junior. But the fact that he still had IT in his mid 60s at 5'2" was just ridiculous.

Thankfully we have a great body of work he left behind to enjoy and celebrate.

Thank You,
Absolutely Fantastic!!
An Angelic voice that belongs in Heaven,
singing with the Angels....God Bless you Ronnie

Just wanted to bump the RIP. Been listening to Ronnie all day in the car and it's still really a bummer. Thank God he left us so much great music to hear his amazing voice.

I had the honor of hangin with him a few times, great guy. We were talking about doing a huge rock vocal symposium featuring me as the vocal coach guy and Dio as well Dio. I'm crushed, I can't get over the sad feeling. He was my hero, probably more then any guitar player.

Got the privilege of seeing him on tour with deep purple with Doug Aldridge playing with him on the Killing the Dragon Tour.. Dio unlike many singers after years of touring hadn't lost anything at all, no vocal range no tone no showmanship.. Dio was a real class act and he was the real deal.. This is truly sad news..

Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker
So it's on and on and on, it's heaven and hell, oh well

The lover of life's not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming
So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, heaven and hell
I can tell, fool, fool!

Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion
For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on....

They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of kings and queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
Its heaven and hell, oh well
And they'll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
Its heaven and hell, oh no!
Fool, fool!
You've got to bleed for the dancer!
Fool, fool!
Look for the answer!
Fool, fool, fool!

Rest in peace..

I remember being 12-14 listening to DIO and Black Sabbath before I ever picked up a guitar, drawing the album names on my school books. He was a big part of me making it through the teens and playing guitar. Really cant believe he is gone, so many others went down the wrong road, drugs and alcohol and are still here, why?
