I traded the KR7 to him for an Uberschall but have since traded that for a Sig:X. I think the only amp i have liked more than the KR7 is the Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead i had before ther KR7. That KR7 is awesome though man, enjoy it

I thought my ENGL Invader 150 was the best amp I have owned.....
This one makes that seem like a toy.
Just fits our style perfect.

More power to you but I played a kr7 in San Diego today on vacation. I thought the clean channel was cool. But the high gains sounded like complete mud. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I also hated the low gain Pubster I played awhile back. Today turned me off of Rivera for good.

This is the only Rivera I have ever played or heard. Nothing muddy about mine. Took me a while to get some tones I like since there are so many options on this amp. I have never played an amp with so many push/pull pots!
Very sensitive EQ. I am still tweaking with it but have got some killer tones out of it.

Congrats on the Rivera! I have both the KR100 and K-Tre w/Reverb, so needless to say, I'm a fan

Thanks man!

It has a HUGE sound....not compressed like I was expecting.
It gets Nastier than that but I wanted to dial in a happy medium for the short demo.
I am digging this amp alot....

the cool thing about the KR7 is that it's not just an amp with an artist's sig slapped on it after a quick approval process. mick flew out to CA a couple of times spending literally hours and hours with paul sr. and jr. tweaking the amp with his own gear to get the exact tone he was looking for. he also went through a lengthy cab testing process before landing on the K100s, IIRC.

he suggested i look at the amp seriously if tight and punchy bottom-end was a tone i was chasing, but i couldn't stomach the price tag at the time as there's a wee bit of difference in our incomes.

Hoenstly I had no clue what to expect when was getting it in.
It surpasses all that I thought!
What a great all around amp. Great clean. Great Crunch....Great Metal channel.
What else could one ask for?

Thanks man!
Its really a great amp. When we uploaded the video the sound got a little more compressed.
This amp is HUGE sounding. not compressed at all like other metal amps I have owned.
Really is a FUN amp to play that I feel like I dont have to FIGHT with to get good tones.
I only got to FIGHT with it to get good riffs and chords from my Drunk ass playing it!

Cool it sounds great with your gear. Got it dialed in pretty good. Riveras need some volume and the right cab, more so it seems than other amps, to get the right tones out of it. It is a killer amp and cuts well through a mix with great low end and punch. It's tweaked by Mick for low tunings, so that's where it excels. Man, I wish I still had mine. damnit...

Alot of people always describe their amps as a "Punch in the Chest" when it gives off power...
Mine?? I describe it as a "BRICK TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD"
Its a Killer....
I have it running into the Randall Lynch Box Cab. That cab is a deep sounding box anyhow so it accents this amp nicely.

I just gave 2 minor settings. This thing can dial in about any tone.

That sounds a billion times better than the K Tre I tried a few years ago. The 1st time I tried that amp I thought it sounded pretty cool, so I went back for a 2nd tryout and it sounded like a dead bag of shit....I was like WTF happened  Same guitar, head and Rivera cab

That bad boy sounds pretty kick ass though.

There are a MILLION and one buttons/knobs on this amp!
Almost everything is push/pull and MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE in the EQ.
I can see where it gets frustrating trying to dial it in. But I spent about 2 hours before making this video and I know that I only 'touched' the surface of what this amp can do.
Video was me just straight in to the amp.
Using a Jackson custom with EMG 81'85 combo in it.
I usually use a Sonic maximzer in my amps.....but this amp HATES the Maximizer!
Thanks for checking it out!

Nice crunch on that Mailman.
How is the loop in that bad boy?
Why do you say it hates the Maximizer? Does it muddy it up, or thin it out?

Most of the times the Maximizer seems to make the amp "JUMP" to life....
on this amp it either THINS it way out....or makes it TOO PROCESSED.
I cant find a happy medium with it.
Buy honestly this amp sounds perfect with nothing on it.
I might try a 10 band EQ in front on it or in the loop in the future.
But for the moment it sounds great AS IS.
THanks for checking it out.
I am loving this amp.
