Boosts are your friends. Soo many amps are just OK stock, but throw any number of boost pedals or combination of and they turn into beasts of a different nature. Before I send anything on its way I try a few boost pedals. My love for the SLO is an example. Stock I liked it, but not 2500 worth of like. Then I put a 20$ eq pedal in front. Then I loved it. Not a huge change you would think, but there it was.

Fish 'n Chips changes everything.

Everyone should have a Fish 'n Chips (or other GEQ, if you want something fancier. The Mesa one is pretty sweet.), and maybe even a Parametric EQ while you're at it. I'd like to have one of those Empress Parametrics!

Well I like natural sounds especially for live I don't like to EQ and boost too much adds too much sometimes doubt I'll ever boost the Rev F especially when I go back to EmGs

I remember my K55 being an extremely LOUD rock machine. Think gained out JCM800, with a very killer clean channel.
