You better put SS frets in now while you have the chance. If you don't you'll regret it and while you're at it use a veneer for a transparent finish and ace that middle pup like Dan said, that is the correct method to cover up the middle pup cavity and never show any kind of bleed or seeping from filling a void. A new top will look amazing bro.

That would be gorgeous with just a nitro clear coat. INo break underneath. Actually thought so because the poly was different around the head.

I had a three P90 LPC at one point, and the middle P90 sounded incredible. I mean jaw dropping riffing and ryhthm tones, and gorgeous cleans.Awesome but please don't put the useless middle pickup back in
A HB sized single coil like a Phat Cat or something from any winder that makes good ones like Lollar, Fralin, BG, TV Jones, etc... would be awesome for the middle.

Just get a dummy for the middle position, sink it low out of the way, rock on.i did that with a Burny 3 pickup and it worked and looked great.

I said HB sized single, particularly a P90 type.
Like I said mine was a 3xP90 LPC. I played it loud and clean. I played it straight cranked amp OD, into a cranked treble booster, a RAT, and SLO Pedal, and numerous OD and fuzz pedals. It sounded tits with all of them.
