I saw Criss and Savatage open for Megadeth and Dio on the Dream Evil tour in 88. I'd heard of Savatage but hadn't heard them at that point and Oliva just ripped...Gone way too soon.

I actually got to see them in '90 with Testament and Nuclear Assault. Amazing show.

I used to have one of his guitar picks from back in the 80's but i gave it as a birthday gift to my friend shawn who is the biggest Savatage Fan ever....I believe he even has a few Savatage Tattoos now.

I was never a huge fan of Criss or any of their other guitar players as such, when it comes to the lead/solo stuff... but man oh man what riffs and songs they had, and that´s what really counts. Love them to bits.

Huge Savatage fan from back in the day and always loved Criss's playing. I remember where I was when his death was announced. I was shocked. Listening to this right now and it sounds fantastic. Always loved the outro solo on 24 Hours Ago.
