Rick is back in BC making amps again, has been for a few years at least.
Must have been a very big pay check for a while, to put aside what I feel are about the best amps made today, and work exclusively for ACDC.

He has more than 1 workshop I believe. Also works for other artists as well.

Hell yes.....does Angus just go straight in to the amp?
Any thing else in the chain?
Man....what a great tone.
Dead on like the albums.

I would sure hope so, considering the gear used.
Whats weird though is none of the other Wizard videos or clips I have heard sounded as good as that one did. Dont beat me up....just my opinion. ;)
That clips sounded AWESOME!!

How cool!

I am hoping to go see ACDC in Japan while I am over here.

Probably because most of the clips you hear are from the MC doing high gain heavy metal, I guarantee that was a VC or close to one. AC/DC is all about low gain and low output PAF tone from that SG guitar or Malcolm's even lower output Gretsch.
Whatever it was......was the best sounding Wizard Clip I have heard! ;)
Sounded HUGE!

The look on Scott's face is just classic. I liked the subtitles....feeling like he was 13 years old!

What an honor though....playing on old Angus Youngs rig.... :worship:

Like many good Canadians, Rick will prolly make a great American. LOL.
I wouldn't doubt he's expanded into CA, and has tons of guys he works with today. Yet when he was on the road with ACDC, they owned his ass, for a price. I imagine he had the time of his life, touring with one the greatest rock and roll bands evar.
Yeah, I dig ACDC, especially the first 3 albums.

When did Angus start playing Wizard amps? I expected to see several Plexi's under that stage.
About the same time Rick St. Pierre was hired by ACDC as their personal amp guru.

Actually...........
1) Rick moved from BC back to his hometown in Ontario several years ago.
2) Rick started building Wizard amps AFTER he started with AC/DC
3) Besides AC/DC, Rick has worked with Bad Company, Paul Rodgers, Aerosmith, ZZ Top and quite a few others

Are you absolutely sure about that? I mean, beyond a question of a doubt.
From what I heard Rick started out working for Dave, at Dave's Roadhouse, here in BC.
He worked on amps for years before developing his own line while he lived in Whiterock, and then was hired by ACDC.
I could be wrong, but that's the story floating around these parts.
I just can't see how or why anyone would move outta Whiterock, many stars and high level executives live there, or at least have a house there. It's absolutely beautiful.

From his mouth to my ears.
He started working with them in the mid 80s.
The 1st amps he built for them were called ARD because they sounded "Ard!" (as in hard when said by an Aussie!)
You can see pics of those amps on the Wizard website.
Rick did TONS of R&D on transformers because the "aussie guys" would complain that their plexis started the night out sounding great and would finish up sound like mush at the end of the night. Rick explained that the trannies were so hot with heat saturation that it couldn't be helped so he started R&D on his amps and came up with a great combo including trannies that won't get hot even if left on for a week. In fact, that is one of my favorite things that I do when demoing the Wizards at the amp shows and that is to have people stick their hands through the cutout side handles and touch the transformers and feel how cold they are!

Well that's about the time period I thought, wow it's amazing how stories go round.
Like I was sure they started touring and recording with his amps before they went out and hired him.
I've never met Rick, but I sure know a lot of people who claim to have.
He's like a local hero in these parts.
Guess I can throw away his Whiterock # now :aww:

Hehehehee!
Awesome tone!

Sounds like Angus if you close your eyes...

Ya... "tone's in the fingers" ;)

Too bad he didnt play "Lay it Down" or "Bark at the moon".......
