Screw all modern high gain fancy fairy dust boutique Amps...

That's a nice amp, thanks for the demo. Kind of felt it was a bit fuzzy too, not very tight sounding, despite the tube screamer. Probably will work amazingly for stoner doom type acts.

Also, always good to see honest demos where you actually hear the amp and it's not some shill trying to influence people and sell products by completely changing the sound using Tonematching and whatnot. So thank you for the demo.
You're welcome. Amp was barely on. Super low volume recording. Feel free to compare the mix Part to any of the Major Metal Label uploads. I did not artificially crank the Volume. Loud = Better (for the human ear) in most cases, It's CD-Level.

What a strange noise. Hmm...
But if you like it, why not 🤷‍♂️:D
I'd love to hear recordings of you Amps.
But since you asked on Youtube, i made this Clip for you in D Standard.
I can make some for you too if you like. :)

Yeah that is a very particular type of tone. Sounds killer for sure but that type of OSDM tone is kinda niche these days. In any case, I dig it no matter what amp or pedal it was.
Thanks man, i'm glad you like it. I dig your tones too. Fwiw, the Amp was barely on. Never heard the term OSDM before. Original Swedish Death Metal? If so i think of HM2 for that type of tone, ecept for the Swedish Melodic Pussy Death Metal Stuff. P.s.: Old-School Death Metal. I got it. :D Well, yes, i grew up on it.

Did you ever play a loud and boosted (to your taste) 2203?
I fucking haven't! I have been fortunate enough to have played a lot of the heavy hitters, but i haven't gotten a chance to play a lot of the classics.

You should bring that beast over, and we will try to summon demons with nasty boosted ridfs

I listened to the drop d version. I still think it sounds good in the mix, but dialing it in like that loses soo much attack on the palm mutes. They are soggy. Tone is brutal..i just cant stand overly fizzy tone.

I dig most of your clips. But this tone isn't for me

This is one of those in the mix thing where the tone does really well in context. I can see why people wouldn't be blown away in isolation but either way it sounds good

Also I give it a month before you're sick of it again :powpow:

Definitely works for that lower tempo, sludge tone. At the same time, it’s not something I would go for. Glad you’re loving it!

Yeah, I wonder if the comments would be different if the mix was played first, followed by multi then iso.

Mixed I loved it. Iso - is not a tone I would personally go for but fits that doom/stoner thing well.

Also - Not modern :dunno:

Not a fan of blending.

I really do like all of your clips regardless. At least you post clips. I love blending amps, but not talented enough (yet) to multi-track. Have you considered blending and multi-tracking? I bet that would sound killer.

You should try it someday. If you weren't a few thousand miles away i would come over for sure. 🤘

Not a fan of his sound, but check it out:

Thanks. Fwiw, the Amp was barely on. It was whisperly quiet. The Amp fattens up and gets tighter if you crank it.

Aah, it's gonna be earlier. But maybe not.
I recorded the Amp super quiet, but it still works.

Some like it. Some not so much. That's ok. Would be boring if all played the same sound.
Thanks. I've done that. I prefer the less is more approach. 1 Amp, 1 Cab, 1 Mic, No EQ. Modern stuff is too overprocessed for my taste.

When you remove the cable between the Master pot's wiper and the following coupling cap what goes to the 1st grid of the driver tube and put in a 100k resistor instead then the amp fattens up much earlier.

When you additional remove the cable between that coupling cap and the 1st grid of the driver tube and put in a 220k resistor instead, then you avoid high frequency oscillation (around 60-80 kHz), what often occures unheard in these amps and what's robbing lows.

EDIT: I was thinking too quick. Not a 220k, but a 47k in the mentioned spot is plenty. But...
... but a 220k resistor instead of the cable from the junction of the 470k/470p-470k to the 1st grid of V2, the preamp tube, where the 100k resistor is across the tube socket.

Yeah OSDM = Old School Death Metal. Nothing to do with Swedish stuff.

That tone is definitely more akin to Obituary et al. Me likey!
