Just my opinion, but I believe that Jim would come back if the mods were to become a little more active in removing the "Harmony Central" element that has become RT....

There are mods on RT? I have seen no evidence of this in the past few months.
I think this is one of the niceties of RT. It's not as "policed" as other forums. ts varied inceptions and evolutions.

Peace,
Mo

Ummm, you obviously have no idea WTF is going on here then. There's a reason why people are leaving, and let's just say it's not the user base....

Hang tight, this place, like any other, will go through its varied inceptions and evolutions.

I am on there!!! It does not have what RT has but it will eventually!!! Lots of big mane ex-RT's are on there!!!

Gents, I haven't left RT. I cleaned out all of the spam threads in my sub forum. Anything over 2-3 months old I deleted as I felt it was old news, which cleaned out almost everything. Maybe that will keep the spam bots out if they see there's no threads or activity there. I am tired of the spam all over the board, not just in my sub forum but all over RT. I've told Brad about this.

I'm not ducking and running for cover from anyone here or for anything I've posted. My skin is plenty thick after 11 years on the net. A few members are haters, or disgruntled, but they're on every forum. I'm used to it. I answer it. And sometimes they get butt hurt at the answer. I can take it and dish it out, no problem.

But I am taking a break from RT. I've got a whole pile of orders to fill every day, and I'm working on some new products. I did sell off some of my old Marshall cabs, and some speakers last year and I bought a 99 Corvette that I got fixed up and tool around in when I can get out of the shop, which isn't real often. In the last two years since I took over production here in So Cal, sales have increased 60%. Needless to say that's why I'm working so much, and don't have as much time for forums.

I put in about 12-14 hours every day between emails, shipping/packing/building and when I do get a chance to visit a forum, it'd be nice not to see spam threads all over the place, and in my sub forum forcing me to clean it up every time I show up. The fact is that I'm a member at six forums I contribute to, and I've only got so much time to spend on each one. I've just decided to allocate my time and energies to what's important, and constantly deleting spam threads is not what I consider important. It's not you guys, OK?

I've left up my email contact info in the one thread in my sub forum for speaker recommendations, and anyone who really needs to find me can do it pretty easily there, or there's always the website.

I'll probably check in once in awhile, because some of you guys are hilarious as hell, and I enjoy your posts. I've only got so many hours in a day to run this company, and surf the net. Here's a reality check for you all...and you can hate me if you like, but it makes me sick to think of it.

I've got 29 guitars here, 26 amp heads, and over 40 cabinets...and I've had exactly 30 minutes of guitar playing for myself in the last two weeks that wasn't for a client or a demo. And one of my friends had to fly here on July 3rd from back East to make that happen on his birthday.

So, as you can see, my priorities need a serious realignment!

I'll see you guys here again, or on TGP, Metro, TAG, HRI, etc...hope you all have a good night! Now that I've finished the last email of the day, and another 2 speaker order has come in while I was typing this post, I'm going for a cocktail! I hope you're all doing the same (or enjoying whatever you enjoy)!!

Oh...I guess this is necessary since I mentioned it above...

Glad Jim didn't bail. :)

As far as the linked thread above...holy crap!! That's some hilarious and cringe-worthy stuff, lol! I miss donbarzini even more now haha. Good to see some of the old rig talkers are out there but not so great to see what the opinion of RT has become.

Really glad, man....felt like people were deserting us.

Hey Jim, let me know if you ever come to the Corvette capital.. thats where I live. Superunknown is just up the road also. Take care, and enjoy the break when you can.

Every chance Don and Dave get, they rag on RT. it's really quite pathetic and rediculous they are still slinging mud after all the time that's gone by. Grow up already.

I agree, I like that this place isn't as anal or uptight with the need for constAnt moderation/censorship which is a touchy issue especially when it comes to giving gear reviews which on other forums get censored or deleted if something unflattering is said about a liked company or builder. Asking for more mods is like the kid in school asking the teacher for more homework , or asking for more laws passed or more police added to the block. For the most part everyone here is respectful of each other.

That was an extremely entertaining read.

I just searched that "guitar amp board" for "9ball" - and there's actually posts about me whining and crying about how they don't like me and am.glad i'm not posting on thier forum because they didn't like me at harmony central hahaha - and i've never even been on this "guitar amp board" and haven't evenlooked at harmony central for.like FOUR FREAKIN YEARS LOLOL - and the funniest part is that these posts about me are from 2013!!!!!HAHAHAAA - OMG man are these guys all like 14 years old and live in basements and never leave the f**kin house or WHAT? LOL jesus H - go.get laid once in awhile dudes lol

And another one for the old ignore button. Sure is getting a lot of use lately.

Jim has been nothing but super cool to me. He has divulged a lot of helpful info. I am a Scumback user and plan on getting more. From what I have seen of him he has remained professional even through the shit talk. There is something to be said about that.

That is an entertaining read over there, sort of. I didn't realize that some of the same guys that are on that forum (ex-members here) and ragged me online there were also emailing me privately 7 days later after their rag posts were up to ask for my help.

They talk about the two faced actions over here and gripe about it (Brad, Dave/Rob, Luxxtone, etc) online, but have no problem contacting me directly when they need help. You have to wonder if they think this is ok, or they just won't get caught doing it, so it's ok until they do get caught?

Like I said...entertaining read. At least I know two members there that I won't be helping privately if they email me again. Class acts all the way through, no doubt about it.

Good to see you still post here and I hope you continue to do so.

At this rate, RT subforums will be reduced to the Cameron and Friedman sections soon. Not really what made this site great to begin with. The whole cool aspect of this forum were the number of manufacturers actively posting on here. Who's left?....

* Bogner - No one from the company ever posts
* FJA Mods - Jerry bailed
* Carol-Ann - Alan rarely posts anymore
* Cameron - How many threads begging for a second run CCV update can this subforum take before it implodes unto itself?
* Friedman - As long as Brad's moving Friedman product through King Guitar, this subforum is likely to remain active
* Diezel - I've never been in there. I know it gets traffic though.
* Egnater - How many more customer complaints will Bruce deal with before he punches out for good?
* ENGL - No manufacturer representation
* ESP - No true manufacturer representation
* Fuchs - VERY low traffic
* Matrix - Now that the Kemper is powered and the Axe has serious competition, is Matrix still the "hot ticket" it was 12 months ago?
* Suhr - It would be great if John stayed active on here......
* Scumback - Jim has packed up shop and moved along already.
* Luxxtone - As long as Brad's moving Luxxtone product via his King Guitar customers, this subforum is likely to remain active
* Orange - Ghost town
* Two Notes - Let's hope they stick around......
* Wizard - Has Rick ever posted on RT? Does Steven come on here anymore?
* Voodoo - Trace will stick around until a marked exodus from RT is underway........

Point?.....The times - they are a changin'.

For me, it's more just time and customer base really. I'm really back ordered and rely more on Dealers to do the jobs for which they are compensated for so spending much less time on any forums.
I do try to look in here once in a while and answer any questions, but other than that its a waste of time. I released an amp recently and put a post in CA section. The amp has a revolutionary PAF bias monitoring system, not one fucking response. If I'd copied a Marshall schematic and added more gain, just like I was doing 25 years ago, it would have got more action on here. But, I'm WAY past that. It's not what I do. It's so biased towards the latest and greatest Marshall based gain monsters from an almost singular bunch that it's probably just not even a good forum for me to spend too much time in. King Guitars is actually one of our Dealers. Brad knows what I do and sells everything I send to him. It doesn't really need my interjection and to be fair to him, he rarely makes much mention of it on here. So not every brand he sells has mass representation and push on here. I wouldn't want that actually.

As for idiots, well you get them everywhere on the internet, they don't really bother me. Just like my friend Jim, I can handle them at this point.

That said, have you any idea how much energy it takes to even conduct a discussion as a Manufacturer without getting your business thrown up at you every few posts. I tried yesterday and posted some honest thoughts on a subject that wasn't even amp or business related, about 3 posts later some dude starts telling me what I should and should not post because I happen to build amplifiers for a living. Screw that.

As Manufacturers we all find our place. It takes a few years to get beyond the 'forums' , after which point you are on your own and competing more and more with your own used market. Mike Z from Z amps has become a good friend of mine and gave me some incredible advice that helped me get through that phase. Any Company that doesn't have a long term plan and just fishes places like Rig-Talk will flat line after they have exhausted that forums potential customer base and the used market will kick in. Companies that sell direct and are not making any attempt to spread around are almost doomed for failure after that phase. Sorry for the grim reaper type post.
