You can buy boxes cheap at Walmart,double box, use big bubble, bubble wrap, lots of it. Just shipped an amp to Sweden, a heavy one. I have a FedEx acct, use that, or sometimes USPS, and last choice UPS. An amp, I pull the tubes wrap them, put them I side the headshell or combo. Bubble wrap, then, in a box, then bubble wrap that box, then another box over that. Then contact paper over the whole thing. Never once used UPS Store, or anyone else to pack my stuff. Had a very successful run, literally hundreds of items over the years. I get guitar boxes froma local music store. Same deal unless I have a serious flight case, then just one layer, and one box.
