I've got the Buxom Boost and I really like it, but I find that I don't use the EQ, really.

I'm playing various modded Marshalls and the new BE50 and am looking for something to add to boost the BE channel to get into more early-to-modern metal territory.

Would the Sir Compre work well in this application?

Maybe Dave will chime in here, however I LOVE the SirCompre.
The compression is not overbearing and the ability to add that extra bit of gain is brilliant.
Plus, the tight knob...it’s on a few of Dave’s pedals and it’s a great feature as well.

Not using the SirCompre with my Friedman amps, at the moment, yet no reason not to try it.
I prefer it with Marshall style to the Buxom Boost, especially for what you seem to be asking/looking for as added gain. Adjust compression to taste, and use that tight knob
