SLO Guys….What speakers do you prefer?

So I played this thing tonight through old 75’s and it sounded ok. I have some cabs in storage but was looking for suggestions before pulling stuff out. I have UK Greenbacks, old 75’s, old 65’s, and old Blackbacks available to choose from.

I’ll probably run it through a 65 cab. I have one bottom cab and a few angled ones.

IMO, I wouldn't run the 75's unless I took out the bright cap on the lead channel's gain pot (AKA the "Haynes mod").

Interesting that nobody mentioned V30’s. I think that’s what comes in the new Soldano 4x12

From your list, I'd agree with the 65s or Blacks/Greens.

I was just thinking that V30s are really good with it, too, and I generally dislike V30s. I've also had good luck with K100s.

Personal favorite is 2 cabs, one Greenbacks and the other V30s.

No, they weren't. They were just the speakers Mike preferred with the new amps when they tested to pick speakers for the new cabs.

There's a few pre-BAD vs current-run SLO100 shootouts on YouTube and I remember them not sounding that different, probs not more than changing the trannies from DeYoung to whatever goes in there now

65s first, then GBs for me with SLOs I've owned. They like speakers that Marshalls like.

I used GB's and V30's with the SLO30 I had. GB's for me with that amp. Sold the V30 cab before I started using the Synergy rigs with the SLO module.
