The fun we're having tonight
That's it in a nutshell. Sounds thicker, meatier, with more Marshally sounding mids. I think it would poke out in a mix more. A bit tighter attack on the od channel. You'll have to give us your comparo...I've read the Mzero is like an SLO/Marshall mix. Not played one; I've had 4 SLOs over the years.
Do it!!That's it in a nutshell. Sounds thicker, meatier, with more Marshally sounding mids. I think it would poke out in a mix more. A bit tighter attack on the od channel.
Plus, it's more versatile. You can footswitch from clean to crunch to overdrive. And it has a negative feedback knob that is super useful for dialing in the overall sound and feel. I wish my SLO had that.
I'd probably grab an MZero if I didnt have the SLO.
l still have them setup for A/B ing in the music room.
Think I'll mosey in there and make a clip, using a couple mics on a V30 and GB.
Got the majority recorded. Taking a break.Do it!!
Awesome man I look forward to it. You’re the man BobbyGot the majority recorded. Taking a break.
3 things that came to mind while recording:
1. I was wrong about the Mezza's channels. It has 3 footswitchable sounds. The crunch channel of the SLO. A boosted crunch channel (which I matched closely by hitting the SLO crunch channel with a klon). And the OD channel. No clean channel. But! I never use the clean channel on the SLO. Always use crunch, which is like a JCM800, and roll off guitar volume for cleans. The Mezza cleans doing this way are sparkly. Love em.
2. I had a 5881 go out on the SLO. Had to replace the quad of power tubes, only had JJ 6L6s on hand. I notice more bass and treble, kind of scooped sounding compared to the 5881s.
3. The effects loop in the SLO makes the sound thinner, even more scooped sounding. Less low mids and more highs. I turned it off for the a/b with the Mezza.
I'll have the video up tonight or tomorrow morning. The sound quality is way better than cell phone. I have plenty of cell phone clips I can load up now.
Nooo, you're the man!Awesome man I look forward to it. You’re the man Bobby
How long has the MZero been in the house?
