I put $1800 down then waited 17 months for the amp, and I sold it for more then I paid for it, yes. But cash'd in because money talks? No.
I sold it because I didn't like it as much as the other amps I have/had, period.
I'm not Bill Gates, but if I thought an amp was amazing, better then the others I've had, you'd better believe I'd hold onto it regardless of cost/ profit. I've been through more amps then I can keep track of. As it is I sold the CCV and kept 6 or 8 other heads, because they were much better imo. That includes one of Marks modded Marshalls.
Getting a little extra profit after waiting all that time was nice, but I never would have sold the amp if I thought it was all that - I've no need to.
The SLO is the better amp IMO, and the Bogner Twin Jet crushes in that arena as well.

When I was at your house I heard you playing some crushing modern 7 string stuff. I'm not sure the SLO is ideal for that type of playing. The Cameron would probably be a little better for that style. If heavy modern stuff is what you're after I can't imagine a better amp than the Herbert you already have. That said... the Cameron and SLO are incredible designs and I would enjoy having either.
After hearing your Vintage Modern next to the CCM...Wow, what an eye opener. I was VERY suprised at which amp i greatly prefered.
you know i've heard a bunch of people say this, and im like blown away. So much so that i brought my ccv to work several times to compare. I have had like 6 vintage moderns at the shop. 50 watters, 100 watters, combo's and not 1 at any point ever got even close. With or without the boost in front. It just sounded thin to me, and buzzy. Never got it....no bottom end, no smoothness, no chimey mids... But again different strokes...![]()

It was a CCM, not CCV, and i wasn't the only that day that was suprised. It's not like I'm a big VM guy, my Fortin does the trick for me. I'v heard the CCV and CCM and plenty of Cameron Jose and Aldrich amps. I feel the Fortin is as good as any of them.

You know, Mark has got the ears and the skill and builds a great amp, no doubt about it. In the 80's heavy rock tone arena, his stuff hangs with anything else I've ever played. Unfortunately the delivery issues create this huge drama surrounding whether you support buying from him or not, and sides are always drawn and shit starts flying. It's a shame really. He could be a Mike Soldano or a Reinhold Bogner if he delivered.
No doubt the long standing high demand without supply is at the heart of all the ill will feelings invloved in Cameron's product. Seems like also at the center of all these opinoins is the one true fact.Rufus Leaking":rcbdl1hk said:HOLLYWOOD":rcbdl1hk said:Hey it's cold outside and heating up on here.Superunknown":rcbdl1hk said:The first Cameron shit slinging fest of 2010....YEEHAW!!!....![]()

The ccv will NEVER be a mass produced amp. They never have and never will be available in large quantity and that's what makes them more unique. They are hand built 1 at a time by Mark. Expect to see 1 a month come out...
I like the SLO but it's so different from the ccv. CCV will do modern / and vintage tones really well. Way more punch and push to... the SLO does not get very modern in my opinion and is alot more fizzy/fuzzy sounding with a less pronounced bass response and different voiced midrange. In the end it comes down to preference and being able to endure the wait time of getting a CCV is a HUGE factor of course. If you can hang back and wait it out, it is surely worth it and IMO you will have a superior tone.

By the way... how do those ejection seats sound??
I agree to disagree friend, but that's ok ... not everyone can see eye to eye. Chris Schmidt and I will be helping out on the burn in and R&D part. Chris knows these amps as do I, along with the assembly team. Chris is very experienced and is more than capable and i am an experienced audio engineer, tech and guitar player that knows tone. I have owned my ccv for quite a while and know what they should sound and feel like. This has been discussed, and Mark will be out to make sure things are great additionally.

One a month? I was under the impression from your previous posts that there was going to be a "production team". Even with you, chris, mark and a production team you expect output would be one a month? That doesn't add up. Granted it not mass produced, still one a month sounds more than a bit on the lean side.

hehe, I loved that amp man, and oddly enough, the CCV reminds me of that amp a bit. It has that darker real growly mid grind and chime in the upper mid, but the lowend is tighter and thicker, and the gain is a bit more aggressive and open. Kind of like leaving the XTC in the L excursion without it getting loose. The SLO and CCV are such different amps IMO, I don't think you could really compare them. Both are great IMO. However, anyone that thinks the CCV can only do hotrodded 80's stuff either hasn't had enough time with one to see what it can really do, or flat out hasn't played one.ericsabbath":2gqb4jc4 said:
