SLO or Cameron CCV

...........yeah....... My XTC Classic that was modified for more gain (like double the gain) sounded EXTREMELY close to the CCV that I tried at the NY amp show. So close that it made me completely lose any gas I had for a CCV. My XTC was modified by Mark when he worked for Rienhold but the mod was quite simple and I could duplicate it on any Classic in about 15 mins.

all things considered (except tone)...the SLO is the way to go

Fixed it for ya... ;) ;) :D

You're a piece of work...

I am just kidding. I love the SLO tone. I would own one, but to me, the SLO only sounds good turned up...

It's not a mouse-fart volume amp that's for sure.

The SLO is a legendary amp no doubt. It's been cloned and ripped off time and time again by others. I have owned two of them. That said, IMHO the CCV is far more versatile and has a superior tone.

Wow....that amp sounds great

Nick's Right...

I you want the best, and you're willing to make the commitment to wait, you will in the end be happy... IMO there is NOTHING like a CCV, and I have had, and have some of the best amps in the World.

Best,

Roid RAGE

Sound is a subjective thing and one man's "best" is another man's overated POS

Exactly, I would take a Wizard over both a SLO or CCV. If I played fast as hell speed lucifer worship type music then I would probably choose a CCV but then again, I like well built amps so maybe not.

What about Viking Goat Fuck Anal Cavity Gore Black Death styles? :D :scared:
Now that is a funny ass name for a genre of music and actually fits alot of music out there. You should copyright that.

Actually, the Cameron production amps are built really well, have you seen them?

Yes, but I wouldn't trust anything from that guy after dealing with him. I saw the inside of my sloppy modded one and several others. I didn't and don't like the tone so it really doesn't matter at all anyways. Some men love it some men don't, not my thing and never will be.

I understand all that Joey and quite frankly, dont blame you in the least, but the production Cameron stuff is pretty well built. Oddly enough, I loved every Cameron modded amp that Ive ever played but there was only one production amp of his that did it for me..

I think it will be worth the wait. :2thumbsup:

:hys:

Seriously if you don't mind waiting ....... Yeah , why not go for it .

I have already been down that path having owned over 8 Cameron Modded Marshall's and a CCV and don't own one Cameron as to date and don't miss them either ! The Friedman Marshall I own smokes everyone of them! .

I'm also looking at the Fortin Bones sometime in the future that when I order it it will actually arrive !

amp1 vs amp2 threads might be fun, but really nothing is gained here. Soooooo much depends on the player, equipment, style and simple taste. Amps I don't like at all sound amazing in the right hands. Tone I love is lost if I jump on that rig.

I agree with the guys that have said buy it, try it, then decide what works for you.

i have owned alot of cameron stuff.

i still would if he were dependable.

i took 2 and half years to get one of my prepaid amp mods back from him.

sheeesh!

I am still wanting to try out a Friedman... I have been close   I should have taken Dave up on his offer to send me a Marsha to try out.

Dave,

You're welcome to come down to my place to try out my Friedman Windsor. It's one hell of a tone machine :D

Well I guess there is no waiting list for Cameron amps now since Chris left. I guess that means I am screwed because I got on there back in September.

I wish I had a way to contact Mark directly.
