So has Mesa gone the way of Marshall.

I think Mesa has done really well over the last few years with the reissues. However, if innovation after 2025 is what you want from Mesa, it might not happen like it did before when Randall was part of it. I'm okay with it, as I have never played a better Mesa than the Mark series amps. They may not even need to be super innovative if they can keep coming up with variations of the Mark or Recto series.

it smooths out the top end in the Lead 1 Red channel...apparently it can be reversed. IIRC, my serial number indicates it came from the factory this way....been awhile since I checked or used it.

assuming both of these are in good working order:

Huh. Flatulent mod?

Can someone buy the ADA rights and reissue the MP1?

probably. Someone did an ADA branded MP-1 pedal a few years ago. May have been analog.man?

I'd probably go with a Synergy rack preamp vs a MP-1, etc.

I’ve had my eyes on a Mesa 800D for a good while. I’m too poor though, and they sell out super quick anyways.

not always, if you watch the vid the tones get more usable as he goes on, and adds gain, but yes, making it work can take time.
Yeah the low gain sound was horribly unnatural sounding, but the higher gain ones were better.

A new Triaxis would at least be worth looking at. But I'll admit my existingTriaxis is just sitting.

Mine is recto but non-fat. I've never actually heard a fat one.
Thats the good one! Lead Red 1 (IIRC) is badass.

Have to imagine there will be a III(+/++) reissue eventually.

Would be sick if they put all the different colors on a rotary knob. And also didn't with hold the ++ mod for a limited release.

The reissues seem to be what a lot of people wanted and by all accounts compare well to the originals. That's a good thing.

As far as doing something new, I sort of feel like amps have hit a wall. There's good 3 and 4 channel versions of most everything with a bunch of power section size options. I don't see myself buying another Mesa after the JP2C.

What we really need is to stumble on an entirely new circuit, but the trial and error that makes that possible is long gone with tubes no longer being in general use.
Honestly nothing new is being made by anyone atm . It’s all the same shit as what I already have at this point .
Hermansson it’s your move bro

We'll see what happens, but I'm not ready to be gloom and doom yet. The VII came out 3 or 4 years ago? So that product line needs a WHILE before the next refresh. Rectos still have the MWs, the RIs and the Badlander. The Tweeds do the old man sounds. You still have the Triple Crown - that in my mind is the best candidate for a refresh, but ot seems to be the best, most full-featured version of that product concept yet (the Mesa "Brit" amps).

Still have the JP2C, and the IIC+ RIs.

I'm not sure where the hole is in their offerings... There are things I would like for improvements to the VII, but it all has to do with midi implementation, I'll have to wait for the next Mark model to even have a hope of it, that will be a long time from now if it even happens.

The only amp brand that seems to garnering any attention is Friedman.

Blades amps has a bunch of new amps coming out, perhaps you've heard of them?

Marshall sold to China. Nothing new or exciting or what people want. Legacy but don’t expect anything new or exciting.

Mesa owned by Gibson. Randall canned. MK 7 last new pre-Gibson take over production amp.
Rash of C+ and recto reissues have been released.

So was that Mesa’s swan song.

Will Mesa ever make something new and amazing again or put a fork in them.

One can hope
Randall's supposedly making a come back. More Chinese amps!

My amps have stabilized over the last few years, got my Marshall, Mesa and Fender amps covered to where I don't miss anything.

not to say if there was something new and different that I like I wouldn't consider it.

guitars and keyboards are another story...

I was all going to say something before realizing I have an D-800 which is completely unrelated to an 800D. Maybe they need to get some creativity in the naming department...

unclean!!

🤣

i had non-phat but i forget why that was supposedly better…tighter gnarlier lead 1 red recto?

yes, they neutered it until you really pushed the gain; still smoother and less aggressive with the phat mod; but it's still usable.

more buyers want the non-phat mod version last time I tried to sell it...so I just kept it; still sounds good to me, it's in a small rack case waiting for me.
