Ouch. Depends on how you look at it. The dog I put down was a rescue but she was also a crazy cur and tore up my neighbors donkey. The other two dogs I have now...one was adopted from a kid who couldn't care for it anymore and the other dog some person who only loved themselves dropped off outta convenience in the middle of a 100 degree summer in an area with no water so we took it in after trying to find it's owner with no luck.
My wife and I just consider our dogs family and they are very important and we do spoil them , but I realize not everyone looks at animals the same way. It is what it is and just a different way of looking at it I guess right?

You sound well on your way to becoming a conservative. Congrats!
I don't identify as left or right but just a open minded person who doesn't follow either party blindly as I honestly don't trust either and don't agree with our current political situation much. I also didn't care much for Biden either really. I don't trust government in general as they don't have mine or your best interest at heart.

You don't always have to pick a side though.

It's complicated for me now. The donkey incident cost me a lot of money. I was lucky I didn't get sued. I had to put down an animal that had my back on a daily basis while I was out here alone and ran many miles with me. But the dog was fuckin nuts tbh. It would've gladly went on a 3 mile run with a broken jaw and a smashed paw. You can't buy that kind of loyalty. But it also would bite me in the ass if I tried to leave the house for a gig and would go bonkers over anything with fur or feathers on it. I was unable to break it of those habits as it was a straight hog hunting animal with mad drive. It belonged on a big ranch not at my six acre place.

So I'm at the stage where yeah, they are part of the family but when they are gone I think that's gonna be it.

I think your interpreting this wrong.

My mistake if I didn't mention in my fenced in back yard by the way. I would never allow my dogs to greet someone in our front yard without my presence... nor are they ever in the front yard without being on a leash actually with me walking them and we have 2 acres of land so they have plenty of area to roam in the back ,so there is no concern with that and I am a responsible owner of highly protective dogs!

Did I imply I was using my dogs as weapons? NO... I did make a comment that rabies would be the least of someone's worries if they ... WAIT FOR IT... were Trespassing in my fenced in back yard .... YES and in that circumstance I would be within my right to allow my dogs to do what they are indeed trained to do in their own fenced in environment which is to protect not attack without provocation !

If anyone comes in my fenced in backyard with a shotgun or God forbid into my home uninvited then they will have a much bigger problem to deal with than just my dogs.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!
I understood what you meant.

Ok for starters... I have 4 dogs and 3 were rescues that were badly abused and it breaks my heart how many animals are treated this way by people who have no business owning animals.

Kristi Noem took her 14 month old untrained puppy on a hunting trip and when the dog became overly excited she decided it was unruly and took it to a gravel pit and shot it in the face and later that day she decided to kill one of her goats for no apparent reason as well This is pure cruelty! Only a psychopath would do something like that

Before you say prove it... It's in her book that she wrote !!!
I believe what you're saying but unless you're actually there in the moment you can't know the real context for the actions.

I have no issue with anyone hating anyone so long as there is firsthand experience with that person. Otherwise, it's he said she said and the context is never really known to make an accurate assessment.

Ok
I must say I love dogs and would likely shoot a human before a dog..
Unless the dog was coming after me and I thought he was gonna attack, then he’s done.
There is no excuse for shooting a puppy.
Kill that bitch
😂

Sir Elliott is listening to you…

He’s not trained to be protective. It’s instinctual. You *might* be able to sneak into the house, but you’d need help leaving 😉

Sounds like Freddie. If I don't warmly greet you at the door you are a dead man. If I start shadow boxing or making aggressive stabbing motions in the air he gets all bent out of shape, lol.

Elliott is kind - until there is a reason to be otherwise. If I let you in, he (presumably) assumes all is good. If you came at me or, especially, his mom (he LOVES his mom), he will put you down. The backyard here is ~150 feet from back door to the corner of the fence. I’ve seen him cover that span in less than 2 seconds and maybe 5 pulls. For a 140 lb pup, he is stupid fast.

Watching him monitor delivery folks (FedEx, UPS, etc.) is hilarious. He will move to the door when he hears them, sit silently in front of the glass and monitor. More than once, I’ve heard drivers say “fuck” quite loudly when they suddenly notice him watching every move. ❤️

You are obviously not a dog person ... if fact I doubt you love anything other than yourself .
I'm a dog person, I've had 6. Chilling next to mine right now.

His quote is wildly accurate and funny. A lot of people do go way over the top with pets. They are after all just animals.

I know a guy that took in a pitbull mix of some sort, my first dog was a pit mix. Best dog I ever had tbh. This guy's dog is great....with people, you can not let him around other animals.

He has 2 other, older dogs. This new pitbull has attacked them several times, hospitalized one of his dogs, so far this situation has cost him over $10,000 he stated. Yet he still has the dog. Why? He said if he brings him back to the place they'll put the dog down. Apparently he loves animals so much that he's willing to spend $10,000 on hospital visits, put his other dogs lives at risk, etc. Etc.

Fucking idiot in my opinion but that's his business. Dogs are in fact dogs, they aren't human. Sure they can be great but where do you draw the line?
