It's not semantics. Murder is to kill another human being unlawfully with premeditation.
I'm the last one here you need to try and school what actual murder is, guy. I don't think it was meant in a literal sense.
This whole "I love animals more than humans" mentality I hear a lot of these days is just a typical outward expression of an inner sickness carried by so many people in society. It's off base at best, mental illness at worst.
Animals ARE better than most humans. You want to try and psychoanalyze me for thinking that? Have at it. But maybe I'm not the one off base here.

His reaction made it sound that way.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. "Better" in what sense?

I can’t speak for him, but generally speaking I have more automatic compassion for animals than I do humans. Animals operate on instinct, not malice.
I don't really believe you do. A dog gets struck in the head by a stone that is flung from a car tire. The person walking the dog is also struck in the head from a stone flung by the same car. Only a person who is sick in the head would render aid to the dog first.

Pretty sure this is how most people are.
Nature can be incredibly cruel, worse than some people.
People can be incredibly cruel, worse than some animals.
I think it depends on the person, and the animal IMHO.
That "operating on instinct" can work both ways.

That’s not really what I’m saying. What I’m saying is if I don’t know you and care about you and you die or are suffering I’m not automatically going to feel sad about it. In most cases I will be filled with ennui. That’s pretty much never the case with an animal.

Ultimately it's a nuanced case by case discussion not worth our time IMO.

Better to be around. More selfless, loyal and loving. My dogs never argue with me about the movie I want to watch

How do you feel when animals eat other animals alive?
Surely that is more cruel than a gunshot to the head.
Goats are livestock.
How do you feel about animal husbandry?

Before the woke mob comes for me, i am not in support of needlessly hurting animals.
But animals aren't people. And those that want to treat animals like people are mentally ill.
I agree that animals are not people ,but from my perspective a dog is loyal , always happy to see you, and wont stab you in the back like most people will do so in most cases I would prefer to be around my dogs than most people.

Until it gets rabies.
A poorly trained dog is bad, same as people.

Your kidding me right??? Rabies shots are available for any dog and all it takes is an owner to actually be responsible. It's actually very easy!

This conversation is starting to really go sideways.

No it isn't. Don't be so dramatic.
You said dogs are loyal and would never stab you in the back.
A rabid dog will get in a bad temper and bite people.
So maybe "never" is not the best choice of words.
A well trained dog is a thing of beauty to behold.
Too bad most of the dogs i come across are untrained and shitty :(

You are obviously not a dog person ... if fact I doubt you love anything other than yourself .
Ouch. Depends on how you look at it. The dog I put down was a rescue but she was also a crazy cur and tore up my neighbors donkey. The other two dogs I have now...one was adopted from a kid who couldn't care for it anymore and the other dog some person who only loved themselves dropped off outta convenience in the middle of a 100 degree summer in an area with no water so we took it in after trying to find it's owner with no luck.

Trust me if you came into my yard uninvited Rabies would be the last thing you'd be worried about...

My loyal dogs would love to greet you!
Using dogs as weapons is a good way to get them shot in the head with a shotgun. And training them to attack people who come into your yard is a good way to get everything you own taken from you by some little kid’s lawyer. Genius.

I think your interpreting this wrong.

My mistake if I didn't mention in my fenced in back yard by the way. I would never allow my dogs to greet someone in our front yard without my presence... nor are they ever in the front yard without being on a leash actually with me walking them and we have 2 acres of land so they have plenty of area to roam in the back ,so there is no concern with that and I am a responsible owner of highly protective dogs!

Did I imply I was using my dogs as weapons? NO... I did make a comment that rabies would be the least of someone's worries if they ... WAIT FOR IT... were Trespassing in my fenced in back yard .... YES and in that circumstance I would be within my right to allow my dogs to do what they are indeed trained to do in their own fenced in environment which is to protect not attack without provocation !

If anyone comes in my fenced in backyard with a shotgun or God forbid into my home uninvited then they will have a much bigger problem to deal with than just my dogs.

Sorry for the misunderstanding!
