What was done to your Tremoverb ?
I sent it in for a recap & general look over, plus the tremolo just didn't sound right. He replaced the dodgy LDRs which fixed that problem. I also asked them to check the volume level between channels because my modern channel didn't get the big bump like other rectos, and he told me that this is normal for the T-verbs. In general it just sounds fresh & killer when they come back- 20-30 year old caps to me just start to sound a little thin even if they're not dead yet. Honestly, the T-verb to me crushes every other Recto I've ever heard, and I just leave all the tone knobs at noon. What an effin' cool amp.
On my Mark III Mike did the reverb mod, a full recap, and the C30 mod to bring some of the shrill off- more like a red stripe. Before I couldn't run the presence past about 2, now I'm clocking it around 4 & it's easier to listen to. We also spoke about the III+ mod & I decided against it since it actually rounds off the gain & aggression a little. To me that's what sets the MKIII apart- it's like a hammer to your face!
I also prefer the Tremoverb. Only Mesa I still have is a Mark IV and Tremoverb.
