Well just unboxed it. Pulled the amp out the plastic bag it was wrapped in between the shipping cushions....
there was a loose capicitor that was in the bag.
Called Boogie and left a message before I try and fire it up and possibly cause damage.
Its a Brown colored one with yellow and purple stripes around it. Not sure what that means or where it goes.
So just put the brakes on. Maybe someone here can chime in if they know what it might be.
Its about an inch long and in girth about the size of a pencil.

Yeah, that sucks bad. :(

I know that feeling of disappointment when you've waited weeks (or months) for some piece of gear to arrive, only to find that something's wrong with it or broken when it finally gets there. In my case, it was a guitar from Carvin that they managed to get wrong 3 times in a row.

In a way it's worse for you, because I could at least play the guitar(s) they sent me. You can't even fire the amp up (at least until you hear back from Boogie, and maybe not even then). Hopefully it's nothing major and something that can be easily remedied.

Look around on the board and guess. It might help Mesa to know what happened.

All is good!!!

I sent Mike B some pics of the board and he basically told me that the extra part didnt even belong to my amp!!

It just stuck to the bag when packaging. :D

Took some pics of the board and emailed them to Mike.

He assured me all was good. ;)

So fired it up and I forgot how touchy these amps are to dial in.

Especially the Slide EQ.

All I can say is its MUTHA FUCKING LOUD!!!! :rawk:

So many pull and shift knobs. Each one brings out a different voice.

I am gonna record some stuff now but man....my ears are ringing so bad.....its crazy.

Just wanna say....... WOW. Thats about all I got at the moment. Crazy tight gain. ;)

Pretty speachless.

Clips to come later.

As far as going TOE TO TOE with my Modded Recto?

They are both in different weight classes.....lets put it that way. ;)
But both are ranked #1 to me for the fight.
Thrash gallor from this Mark III...... Its so funny how "Master of Puppets" it sounds without trying to dial it in.
I Tended to dial it in a bit more darker.

Ok.... nuff talk....

gonna make some vids. ;)

Posted a vid. It was rushed. Only had about 30 minutes with the amp. Life stuff keeps coming up. ;)
My ears are still ringing.

So this ends the Journey of the Modding of the Mark III to the III ++

Very very smooth dealings with Mesa. Highly recommend to anyone.
If anyone wants to hit me up with any questions that would be cool.
Lord knows I bugged the shit out of people.

I just got an Email from Mike B at Mesa asking if all is good.

How cool is that??

Class act there
Really makes you feel like one of the guys when you talk to Mike B.
This amp really really REALLY sounds good.
Wish I could capture it. But it's not even close when I record.
Oh well. Fuck it.
Try some more clips Tommorow.
Parents driving me silly. :D
