man, forgot how much some of the songs from Skyscraper kick ass. Vai sort of lost me after P&W...

Both Eat Em and Smile and Skyscraper had some kick ass tone. He went a different direction afterwards tone wise, which I never really got into, but I guess it worked for the things he was doing.

I was looking on youtube for Two Fools a Minute. I love the intro to that song and the tone is awesome.

Did he use Joses and boogies on P&W?

At the time he recorded and released P&W he was on tour with Whitesnake.
And thats his gear he used '89/'90

From top to bottom, a Rane SM26 mixer, two Soldano amp heads with the name "Schiller" on the front
(Stan Schiller was Steve's guitar tech at the time),
and 2 Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 power amps used for the Marshalls below.

These Marshalls were used as preamps only, the power came from the Mesa Boogie power amps seen below.
In the left of this picture is a Yamaha PC2002M power amp, and in the background you can see Steve's guitar closet.
