Im very content cant say i wont buy another amp in my life, But for " MY sound" I have it with the Mark IV If i find something better that does me then ill flop.

I think I'm done with amps - never been happier than what I'm getting now with my plexi type amps / Ho attenuator / and modded overdrives.

I've never really been an amp flipper. I've played tons of amps, but have had my xtc since '01, and other than modding it to the classic in '02, have never looked back. I have to give my first guitar teacher all the credit though. He told me to learn to get the sounds you want out of your hands, not to get too caught up in gear. He owned literally dozens of vintage fenders and gibsons and fender amps of course   But no question, he has it in his hands. I think its normal to get bored with your gear, but personally I find that only happens if I'm not busy musically. Since I pretty much always am, I'm happy playing my podxt through my monitors, lol. I wouldn't want to use it live, but it can sound good. Its all been said before, but past a certain point amps are just different, not necessarily better. If I sound bad, I know who to blame :D

It's never over. I've been using the same gear now for a little over a year now. That's a decent stint for me. I'm more "done" with buying when it comes to guitars. I've found my guitar in the Suhr Modern. As for amps, I'm really, really happy with my Egnater M4/VHT 2502 and Axe Fx/Carvin DCM150 rigs. I want to try a Mark V but if I like it enough to buy, it'll be VERY hard to decide which of my 2 rigs to sell.

But it's no big deal. I play what I want. If I want to flip, I'll flip. Life's too short.

My problem is I don't flip....just keep buying! Wish I had bought the Herbert first though! My music room would be much less crowded! Still got a Fortin Bones being built and a Splawn Nitro inbound that I forgot about .

Need to flip these Marshall's and maybe something else along the way. I did get rid of my Dual Recto.

I've had the same amp for four years and I'm fuckin' proud of it too!

Im pretty much done. Ive had my Egnater for 2.5 years and I havent really had any amp GAS. Module GAS yes of course, and Id still like to have another SLO and an XTC someday, but Im pretty much content.

I'm done.

:hys: yeah right.

I'm down to 1 amp, which is being built as we speak. Titan.

When I got my TriAmp it stopped all the GAS that I had for amps. There are a few amps like the Mark V that I would like to try, but I should be able to find a store ith one in stock. Unless I could come upon a great deal for either a TriAmp Mk II or a Herbert, I'm done for a long while.

I've always wanted to try a Triamp MKII, haven't really seen many for sale, whats the main diff between that and the mk 2 and 1?

My last amp was bought in '96, 88 Mesa MkIII combo, before that I started with a Peavey Bandit 65 in '88 and in '94 I bought a ADA MP-1 Carvin Quad X and Carvin 1000w fet amp. Last year (08) an Egnater M4, 2 RT2/50s and '09 another M4, Mod50 and 100. The Mesa and Carvin Quad X are still here but I think the Quad is being sold this week.

I wont get rid of any Egnater stuff or my Mesa. I would like to add a Bogner XTC amp, Alemebic FB-2, Egnater Seminar head and a few others but dont really have any Amp GAS. :D

I think I've tried my share of amps over the past few years, I think I'm going to start buying back the amps I liked previously over the next few years :D Who knows though, some other flavor of the month may come out

There are amps I would love to try (Meathead) but I just don't have the GAS anymore like I previously did.

I'm done. Or at least I've found the one amp I will never sell (Guytron GT100). I've had it since around late 2004.

Sure, I've moved an amp or two in the meantime, but they were purely for functionality (small combos that are easy to haul).

:D I like it when Inca posts up cause I have a hard time not liking Boobies after I read his replies.
+1

ive had gas for a long time for alot of rack stuff, but in reality ive kept the same setup because every band practice i crank it up its like "damn right that sounds amazing" and im satisfied.

or some days i go to bed thinking my tone sounds like ass and wake up the following day and sometime during the day when i plug in im like i dont remember it sounding this good lol.

only thing im gasing for are some celestion 75 watters, and about $8,000 worth of rack stuff just to have it for the hell of it =]

i think im up to like..17 mods on my 5150 now?

But if you stop flipping amps ... what's worth living for then?

When I get an xtc i ll stop..so far the best amps Ive encountered after maybe 20 in the last year and a half are..The Fuchs Frost..and Rivera Knucklehead reverb...I flipped alot of amps thinkin they sucked until I found out my fukin 1 spot was giving me noise problems aaggghhhhhh I hate pedal power..

I have bought and sold a few amps over the last couple years. I still want a highly modded Marshall when the price is right. In the meantime, I am extremely happy with what I have. I can use any of my amps to get the tone that I want. When I bought a Splawn Nitro, it was the first time that I was not constantly fighting with my tone and I was happy! Once Doug built me a Roccaforte Ultra, I decided that I should just sell some things cuz they were not going to get play time anymore (my FJA modded Ampeg VL and Mesa DR which sounded great but just not what I was looking for). I kept my FJA modded 5150 and sold a few guitars also. I am still working on selling my 2nd Nitro (keeping the first one of course). Picked up a Bogner Uberschall, Peters Chimera and a Mako Makoplex too. I am in metal tone heaven these days.
