Speaker recomendation for Mark V

I will just start with saying that I don't like V30s. Any time I compare a speaker to them I almost always prefer the other speaker. Right now I have Jensen Electric lightnings in my Forte cabs, but I am looking for something different for the Mark V 25. I was thinking maybe a Scumback J75, or a Lynchback, but I am open to other options. I don't have any good stores close to me to try out different cabs, or else I would just bring my amp down, and see what works.

Anyone have a cab, or speakers that work really well with the Mark series amps?? I mainly use the 2C+, and MK IV modes, I don't really care for the Xtreme mode.

I am thinking about getting a V Boutique v cube 1x12 cab might be better for hard rock than the Forte.

I really dig the Creamback 75's with the Mark amps.

+1 I just put 2 in my Mesa cab and it brightened up my cab ALOT. The V30s sound flat in comparison, so I think I might swap out the other 2 as well.

This video is a pretty decent comparison

I was eyeing a Mesa C90 on Craigslist to swap out for one of the V30s in my 212, I have heard that it is similar to the CL80, so I might give that a try. I have also been in contact with Jim at scumback and he is recommending an M75 PVC so I might look into one of those.

I just finished a bit of experimentation with putting my Jensen ELs in my rectifier 212, I initially swapped just one speaker, and made the wiring stereo so I could A B the speakers with a couple amps. The V30s seem to have an upper mid peak that makes it hard to get an aggressive tone without ice picks it seems like after the upper mids the response just dies out so you have to turn the treble up to compensate then it quickly becomes too bright. The Electric Lightnings on the other hand are a brighter speaker making it easier to get the crisp high end without ear fatigue, and as a bonus the low end is better too.

I think I am going to buy a few different speakers locally to try, but I stand by my view that V30s just don't do it for me. Even in the Forte cabs they sound flat compared to the Jensens.

I think the Jensens might be pretty close to the Creamback 75s. The differences I am hearing in the video are pretty close to what I heard when I was comparing them.

I like 65s, H100s and EVs but the best are V30s. With my 2C+. I know you don't like them, but with the right amp they really kill. Not a big fan either but my Jubilee and 2C+ love them.

I had a couple of amps that were awesome with V30s, a Trainer YCV40, and my Peters Warhawk, the Peters was better with an Eminence Wizard through. Everything in the chain makes a big difference, and I have the amps narrowed down to the Archon, and Mark V 25, I have the guitars sorted out with my LP, and EVH which both play awesome!!! Now I am on my last part of the chain. The Jensens work awesome with the Archon, but with the Mark there is room for improvement, so that is what I am trying to find a speaker for.

My 20th XTC was great with a 412 v30 cab

I had a 212 Egnater cab with a CL80/G12-T75 that sounded great.

I use EVL 300w BLS speaker in my MKIII. Great if you don't want speaker distortion/break up and just the amp tone.

The C90 speaker is good and comes in most Mk IIIs. I had one but like EV speakers.

I have a V30 in a blues jr amp at the moment

I have 14 amps. The Archon is my favorite out of all of them. That amp is just so fucking goood. I also like the Mark V and the Plexi behind that. The Plexi is just crazy though... but it's a one trick pony for me. Maybe I haven't figured it out well enough yet. Fucking loud as hell.
