You'll possibly find old posts of me whinging about the annoying nature of Vintage 30s speakers, but honestly now I am regretting selling a Mesa/Boogie 4x12 that was loaded with them. That thing sounded amazing with my MarkIV. So edgy and sizzling when using the graphic EQ, awesome top-end crunch and had the chug in the bass and lower mids. When I can afford it I will buy one again.

Oh by the way, I use the Lead channel with the EQ for a heavy rhythm crunch sound, then turn the EQ off for a lead sound. Or maybe use something in the effects loop for a different texture for lead sounds.
Yeah, I’ve been kinda watching out for one. If I can steal one, I’ll probably jump on it. There’s a certain Mark IV YouTube vid that I really dig and he’s playing through one...I put a graphic in the loop with elevated mids and it’s a great lead tone.

call me cheap, but i actually really like g12-75's with the mark IV. they're a scooped speaker IMO, and they tend to tame the boogie eq-less mids. 65's of course are up there for sure. those are probably my favorite speakers overall. They sound great with anything.
Yes, 65’s do sound great with everything. If your amp doesn’t sound good through 65’s, something’s wrong with your amp.

Back in the HCAF days, one of Celestions English marketing or sales reps used to post there. He confirmed that the reissue of that speaker had a lot to do with rumblings on the forums about how great the old 65's were... and how they were sleepers at the time (late 90's). fwiw.

I just hooked up a quad of my vintage vented T75's to my Promod. Hawt damn, that amp rips.

But again the new ones (which I currently own ZERO) are garbage. The only worse speakers are the rocket 50's and seventy80's. Of which are beyond utter shit.
