hey Cameron, give me the shit on your atomica so I can make the real curtomica bro

Sounds like a very interesting amp. Watching the progress very closely.

I got a novel idea...
How about more time wood-shedding and less time chasing your tail around looking for a tone that someone described to you on a forum once? I guarantee that if you're warmed up enough, every amp in your extensive arsenal will sound better.

Go take a VH song and spend alot of time dissecting it and learning the nuances of Eddie's playing. That's a much more worth-while investment if you ask me.

+1 A good player makes the amp sound good...not vice-versa, nobody is ever gonna sound exactly like Eddie. It would probably be prudent to spend some time working on YOUR style/sound which is 10x better than trying to build an amp to sound like EVH all day long and wasting your money...just my $0.02...

To clarify the Atomica is not trying to be EVH clone amp. Not at all, its Marks take on the golden Jose low gain high gain amp. Just so happens Eddie liked that tone as well.

Gotcha...sorry bout that, I have absolutely no knowledge when it comes to all that kinda stuff.
I just play guitar

being what some people were willing to pay, wait, and risk just to get the cameron jose tone over the past decade U would think that this would please all of rig talk. Shit, people were willing to send their Old marshall heads in with full payment and wait for yrs often with no communication and many times no amp returned just to get a chance at owning one. Now owning a ptp board Cameron jose or aldrich with loop and warranty is becoming a reality. I do agree that if u have the skill and already have an old marshall laying around that U can build a killer head on the cheap and am interested in following the build, not everyone has thousands to shell out on the next new thing and i get that but I think that what brad is doing with mark is great news for guitar players and gear heads everywhere. Once out I will probably order one.

Just read through all this, is there a thread for the new cameron amp aywhere?

This sounds like a very interesting project. I've got my favorite old Marshalls, and my Mojave Scorpion. They will always remain stock. When will these start shipping?

Jeesh.... Pats sig-pic made me cringe..
That guys neck will never be the same :aww: :aww:
That is all

So was the original Attomica a 50 watter? Anyone know what year or era it was, like early 70's super bass or a late 70's JMP?

digi is getting punched in the face but i read he just wanted to put an atomica type amp together on slightly more than a used marshall budget, to prove it could be done, and is frustrated by all these $killer$ new amps tweaking a higher gain VH jose master formula ala kid in a huge new candy store!

I saw it the same way but I guess others saw it as an attack. Forums are funny things.

And not for nuthin', but putting it together on the kitchen table is as true to the EVH spirit as it gets. They can't all be hits but I don't see the harm in a little DIY action, clone or not.

I have a Friedman-modded Naylor that is awesome. I would love to own a Metro, and a Cameron. And I love to see guys getting their hands dirty with guitars and amps in DIY fashion. It's ALL good...

You know Mike, the coolest thing about my soon to be completed Summers is the fact that the body was made in some basement by someone I have known for years. No it does not have some russian name builder pedigee that works in some huge factory "custom shop" but knowing you were doing your best to make that body means alot. The guitar is going to kill.

That is all it boils down to. It is just some junk old JMP that is going to get modded slightly unless other ideas come up. Brad does not seem to think very highly of my friends though

Well to be completely honest, "in true EVH spirit" I screwed up a lot of perfectly good stuff before I started getting it right. I even destroyed a perfectly good vintage mightmite 1300 distortion pup on my kitchen stove swapping magnets and trying to pot it. It ceased to work and still smells like vanilla to this day. My wife was a little pissed about the good yankee candle missing off the mantle too. How was I too know those things are like $20 a piece? It's hard to deny what you did when the whole downstairs smells like vanilla.
