Sterling is the boss of John`s "other" job? :D

I'm not so sure. The JP model is EBMM's best selling model. If JP walks, so does the JP model. I'm sure there are many builders who'd be happy to build John a guitar. I have to say that I'm surprised JP tolerates Sterling Ball.

The guitars are great but Sterling can be a bit of a douche to people that are asking serious questions. He doesn't allow any constructive criticism on his forum. It's too bad because most of the guys that ask those kinds of questions are honestly looking for real answers. I like visiting that forum because the guitars are awesome and there are some great players over there (one of them being our own Yngzaklynch - Jim). You live with the crap I guess.

Honestly I'll never own another EBMM BECAUSE of Sterling's antics and attitude. No way I'm putting money in that clown's pocket.

I like sweeping when it is used at slower speeds. It is not musical when it is fast. It sounds like a video game from the 70s. Uli Roth uses sweeps very tastefully. Herman Li from Dragonforce is a good example of crap sweeping.

Many sweeps though are rakes or just picking in a way that is more economical/easier. Sometimes it's nice to sweep a 3 or 4 note arpeggio into a sustaining note too... it's not all just wheedly wheedly wheedly. If you specifically avoid the technique you're limiting yourself.

Pete

Very cool answer.
