Have you actually paid attention to the type of people that drive them? I have a game I play when I'm driving and traffic is fucked up. What commercial are you talking about? Subaru has been banking on this kind of "feelings" marketing for a long while.

They have a whole series where the dogs are acting like families and driving the cars etc. I'm a dysfunctional dog dad so I love them. They haven't aired in a while but I'm sure they'll bring them back.

I did like those dog commercials. They were amusing and made me chuckle.
Most of Subaru's advertising revolves around trying to tug on heart strings. The my family was almost slaughtered on the highway, thank goodness we bough a Subaru and my bloodline didn't end on the pavement. Or I was fucking around, not paying attention to my driving. Mwy Subaru prevented me from turning a mom and dad into street pizza, orphaning their newborn baby, and me going to jail for vehicular manslaughter. And then there's always the we'll donate a minimum amount to charity, but that's contingent on you buying a Subaru, otherwise fuck charity. I get it; it's advertising, but those kind of commercials always seem distasteful and come off disingenuous to me.

Every time I see an idiot driver driving slowly, hogging and backing up the fast lane while paying more attention to their phone than the road most of the time it's an asshole in a Subaru. I can't stand it!
