not targeting you with this reply but the first time I choked a man out I almost killed him. To much to type but I REALLY thought I did kill him. Adrenaline dump on top of being in a threatening environment with multiple possible perps. Plus oxygen debt from fighting. Really does not take long at all. Seems like it does though while its going down. When more help arrived I don't think he was breathing. Lt. yelled and slapped him-then started grinding his knuckles into his sternum.....dude suddenly gasped and his eyes opened. Next day his eyes were black from where I choked him out. Moral of the story-It's not that easy to realize when to let go.....and I say this from experience.
