Suhr Aldrich Pickups - What to expect

I liked the Aldrich in my Jackson PC-1 (Mahogany Body Maple neck)
Way to thin and bright in my Hamer Diablo (Alder body Maple neck RW board)

I can see how they would work well in a Les Paul

In my video below I have my Suhr Modern with Aldrich pickups and a Taylor with vintage Alnico pickups. The Aldrich's are a little hotter, not as hot as I was expecting when I read that they were high output and the clarity is fantastic. The split coil sounds are great too by the way very close to single coil tones.

Here's a video which compares my Suhr S4 with an SSH+ and two ML single coils against my Suhr Modern with Aldrich humbuckers

I prefer the single coil tones of the split Aldrich's!

I have one in that LP that my buddy built for me. I love it. It is smooth with great sustain and tone. Every guitar is different and it is sometimes a challenge to the fine the right passive for each guitar. I did not love the pickup at first. I thought it was a little too smooth but the more I played it the more I liked it.
