Suhr Headstock.....Love it or Hate it?

I've never played a Tyler, but I have been told that they are great sounding guitars. This is suppose to be due to the huge headstock... I say BS! One of the finest sounding guitars I've ever owned is a EBMM EVH, which has a tiny headstock compared to most.

Suhr produces some beautiful instruments, but those headstocks are a travesty! Same goes for Anderson. The old Valley Arts headstock is pretty bad also. I think my favorite abstract (6 in-line) style headstock, is the original USA B.C. Rich Warlock.

new shape also gets a yikes from me... too soft. Old shape worked for their guitars. Other builders do the luxxtone type and i like that. I like ESP's shape too, still "tough" enough..Stephen Pearcy would approve! lol

Looks like the old Kramer beak headstock before the banana.

I grew up loving EVH's Franky with the beak neck that he played at the US Fest.

Old shape seemed generic but who really cares when the guitar is amazing. At least it's not something you have to "put" up with.

Newer one seems like something harley benton would've done, or any chinese factory.

reverse they're great....not-reversed they're kinda meh....but still prettier than lot of headstocks out there (looking at you Tyler and EB!)

I love the Suhr logo, but needs to let me design a new headstock for him. :D

Exactly.

Suhrs guitars kill.
Great attention to detail on wood choices - old growth, baked, white limba etc
Pickups with authentic alnico magnet mixes
Innovative unique silent system that works

Let down by a headstock that contradicts all of the above
An engineer can do all that good stuff
Some artistic flair needed to top it all off
Get that sorted, and they can rule the guitar world

I think their normal headstock looks classy. Apparently, I'm not the only one as more than half the ppl posted like it as well.

Great guitar but the headstock is MEH!!! It's just simple plain and doesn't do anything for the guitar either way. Take it or leave it kinda thing for me.

I think the Suhr headstock looks great on a strat shaped body! No complaints at all from me.

Not really a fan of it on a Tele body though. To me, only a traditional Fender tele headstock looks right with a tele body.

I like the new Suhr Headstock with the dark stripe, the normal one looks like a cheap Asian copy.

Haar has a new one, too:

ME TOO!

I think they look exceptional reversed.

Nothing wrong with the Suhr headstock. Wouldn't work on a singlecut though. Best headstock ever was the original TA. Didn't look that much like a strat to me. Pretty absurd that Anderson was forced to stop making it.
