I'm thinking about putting these tubes (EL34) to my Herbert, because SED C are unavailable where I live. Any opinions? Anyone compared them to the original SED C or any other tubes? Oh and please don't convince me that I should buy something else, I just need some info about these tubes :) Thanks for any info.

All I can really tell you is that I like em! I use them but have recently turned more towards KT77's and 6CA7's. Still though, have them in my 2204 clone and dig em!

I could be totally wrong, but I think they are the same design, but just made a different factory??????? I wouldn't hesitate to use them especially now that the SED's are NOS tubes, and the price is stupid.

I tried some years ago and didn't like them. They were brittle sounding from what I remember.

They are NOT from the same factory. The original plant (ironically called "Svetlana") that made SED =C= tubes is dead. No more tubes from them.

Svetlana tubes are made at the New Sensor factory (along with EH, Tung Sol, Mullard, Gold Lion and Sovtek tubes).

In comparison with other tubes they are somewhat neutral. We usually use them in amps/situations where we don't want the original tone colored much.

I was looking for something that can add a little "Marshall" flavour to my sound but I haven't found anything (and nobody answered my post in Diezel forums) so I decided I should buy these Svetlanas. I dunno, there aren't many "good" tubes to choose from, JJs - not very durable, EHs - I don't like them, SED - no more available, etc. and not every tube is available in my country, so I had to choose between EH, JJ, Tung Sol, Shuguang and Svetlana.

But! If anyone knows tubes with "Marshall flavour" and not much low end write me a PM, because I haven't paid for it yet so I can cancel my order.

Use Greenback speakers in a rear loaded 4x12. That might add more "Marshall" flavor than any tube.

There's only one option to make a Diezel sound just a little bit more like a Marshall - EH tubes. I wouldn't put Svetlanas in any of our Diezel amps (we have all models in stock).
