I tend to like DiMarzio for strats/superstrats and Duncans for Gibson style guitars but it's not a set rule just the way it worked out for me. Ultimately I'll use whatever fits a particular guitar better.

I would just like to Find a Passive pickup that is Aggressive, Fat, Warm, Chunky & Not Fizzy on the High End. I like good Sustain/Bloom From Passives. I tend to lean toward A5 Magnets or Ceramic.

 That's exactly what I'm going for on this new Ash bodied>maple top>wenge neck>ebony board superstrat. I think I'm gonna try an alnico warpig. I especially want to thicken up the low end and sweeten the highs, and that's exactly what I think the A-pig was designed to do.

Seems like this dude's thrashing one pretty hard

I Edited what i was looking for but i think you're right. I Think the A-Pig would do just that....I was just hoping for a cheaper alternative.

Don't be brand loyal. That's closed-mindedness. Be guitar loyal. Give each one what it wants and what makes it better.

This is where I'm kinda stuck at now. After dropping EMG 81/85's in all my guitars for years, I now use the stock bust buckers & 57 classic plus Pups in my Explorer and LP and I have gotten everything I want out of em. Some ppl say they can't get squeals and rich harmonics but I get them and more. All the vowels are there.

I have a ton of pups laying around but I really don't think I want to get into all of that. Just using these axes as they are off the showroom floor is working for me.
Tell ya what . . . . I'm saving a TON of $$$$$ not needing to change em out.

Yup.. I fucked up 2 guitars that had 5-way switching for 3-way EMGs.. Brand loyalty..

I wonder if Bare Knuckle makes a Pickup that has an Alnico V Mag but Slightly Less Low end than the War Pig....Literally Just Slightly Less Low End.

I bet you could just ask Tim to wind you an AV Warpig with less low end, but honestly from my experience with the C-pig I had a while back, it wasn't as low end heavy as it's made out to be. Also, I'd rather have a pup with more low end than less because you can easily cut low end out between the amps eq, a ts9 type od, and an eq in the loop or out front.

Very Valid Point....The APIG would be installed in 1 of my Les Pauls & i'm worried the Low end would be too boomy or a tad not tight enough for fast double picking parts or fast chords. I play music in the style of Terror, Agnostic Front, Madball, Shear Terror, Sick of it all. I do have 1 Les Paul that is a little Anemic in the lows & i have 1 Les Paul that is a little to Fat/Compressed....but it could be the EMG's that are in that one.
