Synergy experience

Love my Synergy stuff! I have a Syn 2, and 8 high gain modules. I typically use it with a modified Seymour Duncan KTG 2100 power amp, which is a huge KT88 power amp.

I definitely think it shines through a nice big power amp.

I have used it with the Syn 2 bypass loop and it worked fine for me. Very transparent.
it’s cool to hear what others are using and having success with.

goven my current selection of stereo power amps,
if my main goal was modern heavy crunch and tight metal riffing i’d go with my vht 2-90-2 with kt88s. it has the best immediate punch and aggression in the presence..

for classic low/mid gain ala vox, tweed fender, and JTM i’d go randall RT2/50 for lower volume compression and more mids.

my fave overall for great rhythm crunch to elastic liquid leads on a single rock tone and the sweetest cleans with big lows and dynamic highs is the boogie 2:90.

In the studio just switching amps works fine. But live switching say a twin and two Marshalls (rhythm/modded lead) means not only do you have a 400lb 4-case rig but your sound moves around, you have to soundcheck two mics, you clog up a ton of backline space etc.

At some level of support and indulgence of profitable artists it becomes an option. I however have never played at that level and never expect to. Channel switchers are a feasible option at a lower level and keep gaining flexability. But a Syn2 and a LXII has more capability than the vast majority of boutique channel switchers.
wholeheartedly agree!
my friend runs a 4 channel cae amp switching wdw rig in his studio and there’s no denying how insanely sweet it is switching from a raging steve stevens or jose head to a bludotone clean or lead tone, with all the boutique pedals and ultimate rack fx kicking in and out at will.

but taking that circus on the road is a recipe for added stress, marathon setups/teardowns/cable mahagenent/troubleshooting, soundman violence, herniated discs and hemorrhoids 🤣

I have the syn-2 with the be-dlx and the be-bb modules. I run them into an old Tube Works stereo 6L6 120 watt power amp intl a 4x12 with Scumback speakers. The only complaint I have is that the clean tone volume is not loud enough when I am playing live. Going direct doesn't sound good. I ended up buying an IR-X as it sounds pretty good direct into the p.a. although I can't get the clean tone loud enough with it as well.

Could you pair up the syn50 to the syn-2? It would be fun to have 4 modules running at one time. I know you can pair up two syn-2's.
not sure but i can’t imagine synergy not making that an option.

I just drug my Synergy stuff across the house where my computer stuff is, so my next goal is making ToneX captures of it.

I like to rotate different sounds. I am currently into the Drect and Ultra Lead.
