i'm new here (first post) but i figured i'd chime in.

i have a renegade head, which i love by the way, and i've not noticed anything like you are describing or anything like i'm hearing in the clip you have provided. i have only had my renegade for a little over a month now but i keep both channel volumes at full and keep clean reverb at about 3 all the time and overdrive channel at a little less than 12.

;)

i figured a new post stating that i wasn't experiencing such problems may get a response such as that but i wanted to throw in my experience with my renegade.

Been away, so this is first time I've checked posts for awhile. Listened to hbucker's reverb post and that is exactly the same way my reverb sounds. I thought I had found a way to get around the reverb noise/fuzz issue by camouflaging it with the channel set-up. But that just created constraints on the amp. I hope there is a way to resolve this sound, because I don't think its a matter of taste or what one person likes in reverb versus another reverb sound. It is just plain bad. Lots of great things about the amp, but two or three issues at times take away the joy of playing it.

Try running the channel volume lower and turning up the master a little

FYI, we are still working on this. Please don't think we blew you off.

Thanks Ramblin390. I'm glad someone has a viable way to use the reverb. You're solution worked. Its just funny that I can only use 25 - 30% of the channel volume if I want to use the reverb. I'll just get used to setting up the amp relying on the master volume. Its really disappointing though, because at least for me, I like to be able to use everything an amp is supposed to be able to do. I stopped using Marshall because I found that the amp didn't live up to its hype. The Egnater sounds pretty good but I'm discovering that the only way to get use of the different features, is to not use channel volume. Thanks for the education. I hope that other people try your remedy.

Thanks.

You should get the same result, regardless of the channel volume by reducing the reverb level knob. I suspect the reverb drive circuit is overloading, though I have not been able to verify it yet. The reverb knobs control the amount of dry signal that is SENT into the reverb circuit after the channel volumes. I see no reason why you can't set the channels where you want and adjust the reverb level afterwards. Please let me know if this works better while we work on the solution. Also note if at some point the reverb starts to get weird as you increase the reverb level knob.
