I can respect and appreciate what the guy has done musically and talent wise, just sayin the tone is far from what I would lock into. Now, Pete Thorn on the other hand makes the AxeFx sound like a monster.

See I disagree as I have not been too impressed with his clips, esp his brown sounds and Lynchy tones. Monster player and enjoy his clips but for me nothing special tone wise. Just goes to show we all hear things different.

I have enjoyed Ed's far more then Pete's.

That's one of the worst sounding, dry, cheezegrater AxeFx guitar clips I've ever heard. And that's coming from a guy who owns an Ultra. Maybe that's just the way he likes to dial in his sound but compared to the tone I get from my Ultra the way I like it it's a night and day difference.

wtf?!?
poast a clip of your tone plz

Agreed. But Pete's Komet clips sound better to me than just about anything, though its a completely different style. God I want one.

I've always felt that Acle's Pod clips sound the best out of everything he's done........but.....everything he does is full of win...

Do you use a cab sim? Do tell details please. That was pretty great for direct.

Fellow Zorran does some great direct recordings too if I'm not mistaken. And we all know how his stuff sounds

The guy used a bunch of cab impulses. If you check on the forum, you can see more info. He has his patches and impulses available for download.

Hmmm I'll look into that. Thanks

i think its his playing that makes the clip, the tone in itself isnt amazing..but im sure its only because its his first clip. definately with scott on the dfhs2 comment, i cant wait to get mine!! i was waiting for tesseract to get his axe fx before i started gassing for one..looks like itll be a few more clips before that happens though. the tone on here sounds direct, and sounds like he had to push them up in the mix heaps to get them to cut through, also making him bump his snare and making the kit overall sound unnatural. i always think great guitar tones are great because of how they sit in the mix and not by themselves...which is why im a huge fan of the mark IV. but yeah i think i just maybe looking too far into the first clip.. but also maybe coz perhaps i expected more. acle sure does set himself some high standards :p
