I still dk how this is different from the Super Distortion other than the slug and screws

Yes , the description has been lacking on their website for months. It is described the same way as the super D. Get on it Dinarzio. Looks cooler though..

How much different sounding is a bridge DPAF vs. DsuperD?

I swapped out the stock JB in my Fender CS strat for one of these back in June. A 100% improvement! It is very slightly less output than the regular SD with a couple of slight changes to the mids.

Is there note separation and clarity or is it still quite compressed?

Could be cool of it drives the same but doesn’t have that mid honk they usually have.

There is still that compression as it always has had, but it isn't as much.
However, at least with my setup on either Soldano, there is more clarity there compared to the previous regular SuperD that I was using. Now, bear in mind, mine has the aged cover so that also may affect how it sounds. Again, this is on my setup and what I am hearing from it.

Either way, I'm really happy with it and it is staying put.

Meh, it sounds like an incremental change to me. Great to upgrade a budget guitar

I been running 2 for 46 yrs in this beast and i play clean most of the time. Best neck HB i ever played
thick and punchy with no mud. almost just almost like a P90. i hardly use the splits but they are there if i need to

I'm actually very glad I clicked on this thread b/c I didn't know the Super Paf Ceramic existed. I wanted to put a Super Distortion into my Strat but they didn't offer it in a traditional nickel cover. I went with a Duncan Custom instead.

tbf I think the Duncan Custom sounds a bit better lol

Have you played them both? I've only played the Custom. It sounds good, but very "metal" under gain. Does the chugs very well. I was hoping the SD would lean more in the EVH direction than the Custom seems to.

Hard to say because EVH had a ton of tones throughout the years.

I played both and I think I prefer the Custom, honestly. That said, I have the Super Dist in one guitar right now and the Custom in none.
