We have lost some really cool guitar players that used to post here due to this. So if a forum site owner was ONLY concerned with site traffic and therefore multiple user accounts "per IP" were allowed, then what's the point? So the same person (with multi alts) can see the same advertisement? In other words, they see the same ad on different devices means they are twice as likely to buy said product

Companies paying for ads would have no way of knowing that.

It depends on what (if anything) the site admin/moderators are looking at (or looking for).

There's a contingent of user accounts on TGP that are clearly there at the behest of the site owner, and they do nothing but attack other members with mocking, negative responses.

The only reason for this would be to drive up traffic, and as a consequence, increase ad revenue.
