I'ma take a wild swing and say Density is a variable NFB resistor
This is what Jorg from Bogner said about the Snorkler 50 Deluxe in response to my email inquiry. It is supposed to be released sometime mid July to August.

Hi Rob,

Amp is not released yet, is always the same with this guy posting ahead before we are ready.
Deluxe perhaps suggest is a better amp, it’s not, at least we don’t see it that way, yes has more switches, an additional control and a third gain boost mode but it’s a more modern tighter amp with more control over the power amp, it got the density control from the Uber Ultra. The original Snorkler was designed in a time where Eb and drop D was the lowest tunings, these days with 7 and 8 string guitars and crazy low tunings the Deluxe will defiantly keep it more together.
Perhaps it might also appeal to folks which like the feel of a 100W, it’s not the same but closer.
And of course it’s more expensive.
We will have more info in the coming weeks.

Regards,

J o r g

Looks like the Deluxe has all the switches the Marshall Modded Bogner Snorklers have. Probably EQ Shift, Slope, Treble Freq, Bright, Deep. Wish they would have made it 100 watts.

Picture of my Snorkler, has Deep switch and Density knob on the back.

It was well known that Jerry played an Randall RG80 when he went into the studio to record the first album. There are some YT videos of early shows where Jerry is still playing the Randall live even after recording Facelift and the tone sounded great.

Fwiw: Lynch used a rg100 on tons of albums/gigs and dudes ran out and bought Marshalls because that's what they saw him playing after he upgraded... It's well documented his "Marshall tone" on Tooth and Nail was a Randall. I believe he had a hand in designing it... Wasn't he the one who introduced Dime to it?

Regardless... Randall RG100's were used wayyyyyyyy more for different tones than people think or give credit to.
