Mark Cameron is putting out some feelers boys!

.
A phone call to a contractual lawyer gets things rolling and trust me, Lawyers LOVE these kind of cases. They are a sure thing.
So if you could, let Mark know a simple phone call (to legal council) will start the process of bringing closure to all this.
Unfortunately, the statute of limitations may have tolled on a lot of those undelivered orders.

However, I wonder if Mark Cameron has ever been successfully sued by anyone here? If so, there ought to be a thread on successful lawsuit stories against that guy.

My fear is that nobody ever lawyered up or even tried to sue him.

I think for a lot of people unless the amount you’d get back/win is more than what a lawyer costs, they just wash their hands of it.

The attorney general for whatever state he was primarily operating out of might have been able to do something, if enough people had filed complaints with them. There's also federal venue if any shipments or transactions crossed state lines (intrastate electronic transactions would also qualify), but there usually has to be compelling federal interest for the DOJ to get involved. The window for both criminal and civil action has almost certainly closed by now.

LMFAO get a lawyer etc.
Yeah, sure, the judgement is a slam dunk, but you would never be able to collect a fukkin dime from that asshole.
A couple of half finished amps and some empty pizza boxes is not what I would call "assets".

The problem is it's at that awkward size where the amount of money for one amp is too small and the defendant too poor to be able to effectively litigate. Even if you get a judgement including legal fees, it's quite likely neither the fees nor judgement will ever be collected because he's quite likely bankrupt.

I spoke with Brad King at some length at one of the annual Amp Shows at the hotel in the Valley when the Cameron platform was being rolled out, and I can say this with a degree of confidence: Brad did not present as a well capitalized, business savvy individual. I am in the business of advising and occasionally acting as placement agent for finance and equity transactions that fund ventures and projects. I negotiate and strategize with businessmen for a living. Brad struck me as clearly lacking the access to liquidity to carry a venture of this nature long term, as well an overly-optimistic hobbyist that was propelled more by ego than intellect or acumen. Even without Mark's penchant for financial fraud and illicit drugs, I suspect that the Cameron Amplifier venture would have ultimately failed unless acquired fairly quickly by a larger manufacturer with brand recognition in the market, and the required infrastructure. Just my opinion. All of that said, the amps themselves sounded very good.

It is really, really expensive and requires immense liquidity to start and run a business especially when demand is built on hollow promises and a lot of competition. It’s no doubt it failed and you’re exactly right - it’s an uphill battle when everything is working as it should. It’s even harder if someone like Mark’s history involved and/or vendors pick/choose who they want to do business with playing favoritism or not letting you enter the market. Some people’s money is greener than others and I learned first hand you’re in business if other people, not customers, want you in business. It takes a supportive team to run a business and it’s enough stress that it wears on you.

Yes, these amp builders- looking at you Larry- can take years to deliver.

In California, the deadline to file a lawsuit to recover money for an undelivered item depends primarily on how the purchase agreement was made: [1]
  • 4 Years from the date of the breach if you have a written contract. This includes online orders with digital receipts, invoices, email confirmations, or text agreements. Under the California Commercial Code § 2725, the general limit for a breach of contract involving the sale of physical goods is exactly four years. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • 2 Years from the date of the breach if it was an oral contract. This applies if you bought the amplifier through a purely verbal, handshake agreement without any written trail. [1, 2, 3]
  • 3 Years from the date you uncovered the deception if you are suing for civil fraud under California Code of Civil Procedure § 338(d). [1]

Also, with the help of Google AI, I am now a law expert.

How many years has it been since this fiasco started? It's time the people who were wronged accept the fact they're never getting an amp, they're never getting money, they aren't EVH, and no diode clipping Marshall mod will ever make them look great in tight, animal-print Lycra.

I just don't get it. Don't people hear the great Marshall mods out now? The secrets are all out. Why even fuck with Cameron, other than being some clown who just wants something nobody else has? It's puzzling.

Bro…you can’t sit there and type that out in any serious manner and expect me to nail Lay It Down and Little Fighter licks with a Billy Gay Armstrong Marshall. I mean really??

The mojo is in the goop that covers the circuit, didn't you know that? Certain brands of goop enhance the relationship of the resistors and enrich the complexity of the fragile harmonics. This was Alexander Dumble's secret as well. Only truly worthy unobtanium circuits use the goop.

Dumble was also using crystal lattice. That is 3.5x more toneful and expensive .

This is the best, if you love an amp great but it's awesome that some think they can buy the gear and just sound better or be better..... Its the best lie in marketing and people believe it too 😂

I might be wrong but I thought it was around 2008-2009 that I was seriously looking into getting a Cameron modded Marshall. Probably before that when people sent their money.

The most pathetic part, other than our forum members getting screwed, is that Mark could literally hand over his schematic to someone like Dave Friedman and let him take care of it like he did with the Jose. But he would never give that up.

For anyone new to this drama, this wasn't a one time thing. There were a few failed attempts to get the Cameron amp line up and running with new amp models, etc. Slowly it just failed again.

That's more than a little on the would-be partners too. They should never have gotten involved without a schematic of the thing they were supposed to build.
