Now I don't even want to work on this stupid thing. I was going to switch out some pedals and reroute it, but I'll wait to heal for a bit.

Sorry to hear! Take the time and let it heal correctly or you could have long term issues. Wouldn't hurt to have a podiatrist look at it. I assumed I had another case of plantar F, waited a year and found out I was walking on a broken bone
